Meet Notes 2008 Season Varsity vs Barnstable 10/1: Course distance: 2.9 miles. Katie Ayers, BR's top Girl's X-Country runner came in 2nd with a time of 20:27-one second behind Barnstable's number one runner. B-R times: Sarah Cote came in 8th with a time of 22:20 Samantha Bissonnnette came in 11th with a time of 24:08 Colleen Buckley came in 15th with a time of 24:42 Kim Gabriele came in 17th place with a time of 25:23 Eva Bunszell came in 18th with a time of 26:10 Mikala Murad came in 19th with a time of 26:10 Alexis Damish came in 20th with a time of 26:14 Emily Cililberto came in 21st with a time of 26:17 Kelly Meagher came in 22nd with a time of 26:50 These girls were able to come in before ten other Barnstable ladies making it quite a race! Varsity vs Dartmouth 9/23: The Lady Trojans prevailed in a tight meet with Dartmouth 26 - 29 in a home meet on a beautifull fall afternoon. Leading the way for B-R and coming in first overall was Katie Ayers with a time of 21:23. Dartmouth took second and third while B-R runners Sarah Cote and Colleen Buckley finished 4th and 5th posting times of 23:56 and 24:39. Dartmouth took 6th and B-R's Sam Bissennette finished 7th at 25:14. Kim Gabriele rounded out the B-R scores finishing 9th and 5th for the Lady Trojans with a time of 25:40. Varsity vs Brockton 9/16: The girls xc team were edged out of a win 26 - 31 by Brockton but the upside was that Katie Ayers ran a course record on the 3 mile course (20:36) at Sheep Pasture in Eastern. Sarah Cote placed 4th, Samantha Bissonnette was 6th, Colleen Buckley was 9th and Kelly Meagher finished 14th. Tri Meet vs West Bridgewater, Abington and Braintree 9/5: Katie Ayers, Samantha Bissonnette, Sarah Cote, Colleen Buckley, and Julianne Benvie placed to win against two out of the three teams. The girls dedication to teamwork helped to secure the wins on Friday afternoon at West Bridgewater's course! Everyone who ran on Friday played an integral part in helping the team succeed. The team's record is currently 2 and 1. What a great way to start a season!!!! |
