Game Notes 2011 Season
11/24 Varsity vs Brockton: Nick Schlatz (two TDs) and Branden Morin combined for 200 yards on 37 carries to lead the Trojans to their second consecutive Cape Cod Cafe Bowl victory. Running behind an offensive line which opened the door throughout the game for the ball carrier the B-R team played their usual ball control eat up the clock game. When the Boxers generated some offense it ended with miss opportunities inside the twenty. Schlatz was named the MVP for the Trojans
11/19 JV vs Brockton:
The JV football team lost a heartbreaker to the Brockton Boxers by a score of 24-22......The Trojans had a tough time defending the Boxers offense. However, the Trojans got down to the 8 yard line with 59 seconds left, no timouts, but could not punch it in. Sean Whitaker and Nick Crispi blocked well and Anthony Gallo ran hard all day. The Trojans JVs finished 7-2-1 (3-0) OCL. Freshmen: With a 32-8 win over Brockton, the Class of 2015 wrapped up their freshmen football season in style finishing undefeated at 10-0 (3-0 Old Colony League). Riding a solid all-around defensive effort, quarterback Jack Connolly connected with tight-end Cory Wasylow for two touchdown passes and tailback Isaiah Bell provided another two scores - one of which was a kickoff return to the house to start the second half. With Brockton starting an early second quarter drive in the shadow of their own goal post, defensive tackles Willie Fuller and Therone McQueen combined to sack the Boxer quarterback for a safety. All told the freshmen finished the season having outscored opponents 310-79.

11/11
Varsity vs Taunton:
It was Branden Morin night as the B-R senior scored four TD's, two through the air and two on the ground. Morin scored for the Trojans on the first play from scrimmage gathering in a pass from Brad DeIuliis for a 70-yard TD run. Morins also had a 74-yard TD run just before the first half ended. His two other TD's was a 2-yard plunge and a nice leaping catch of a pass thrown into the end zone with 8:13 left in the game. The game marks the end of a long rivalry with the Tigers who will join the Hockomock League next fall. JV: The JV football team beat Taunton Tigers by a score of 20-18. The game was very intense as this will be the last game ever played by the Trojans and Tigers. Playing well for the T-Men on defense were Devin Morris, Pat Wholley, Anthony Sullivan, Joe Cannistraro, Ben Cormier and Pedro Ramos. The Tigers gave the Trojans some fits at first but the O line of Nick Crisipi, Mike Vasquez, Evan Shockley, Charlie Driscoll, Anthony Sullivan and Sean Whitaker regrouped and preformed well the rest of the game. Dave Miller completed a pass to Mike Murano for the first score, Brendan Page scored the second TD and Dave Miller scored the final TD. Arcel Armstead rushed for over a 100 yds. The JV team will face Brockton on Sat. and will go for their 9th win, the most in over 5 years. Freshmen: In perhaps the last ever freshmen football game against Taunton, with the Tigers leaving the Old Colony League next year to join the Hockomock League, the B-R freshmen sent a resonating farewell message with a 36-8 Veteran's Day victory. Despite coming out emotionally flat for most of the first half the freshmen scored with relative ease. Taunton's only points came late in the fourth quarter with B-R near the bottom of its depth chart. Jack Connolly played well at quarterback, rushing for a score and completing touchdown passes to Cory Wasylow and Connor Reagan. Isaih Bell, a consistent break-away threat dating back to the second game, had two long touchdown runs. The freshmen are 9-0 heading into the season finale against Brockton - a rematch of a week 5 matchup the Trojans won 28-6.
11/5 JV vs Barnstable:
The Trojans JV football team defeated the Barnstable Red Raiders by a score of 38-12 improving their record to 6-1-1. Arcel Armstead played good and so did Anthony Gallo and Dave Miller. The defense had a great day for the first time in about three weeks. The Trojans face the Taunton Tiger JV team on Monday November 14. Freshmen vs Barnstable: Showing a little old school B-R pound the rock and control the clock flavor, the second-string offense rumbled down the field for a 97-yard scoring drive lasting the entire length of the third quarter to put the Trojans up 32-0 en-route to a 32-8 victory over OCL rival Barnstable. With the win, the freshmen wrapped up their slate of home games undefeated on the B-R turf and are 8-0 headed into the final two weeks of the season.
11/4 Varsity vs Barnstable:
A threepete trip to the MIAA play-off were left in Barnstable when the Trojans fell in overtime to the Red Raiders 26 - 20. It was a brusing game with big plays by both teams, i.e. Nick Schlatz running 73 yards on the first play from scrimmage for a TD and then the Red Raiders almost took the ensuing kick-off to the house. Schlatz (118 yards on 12 carries)left the game with concussion symtoms in the second quarter which didn't help the Trojan cause. With the score tied 20 - 20 in regulation the Trojans had the ball for the first series of 4 down but on 4th and 9 elected to go for a field goal which failed. The Barnstable eleven scored on their third down play to end the game. The game was tied 13 - 13 at the half. Barnstable went ahead 20 - 13 with 6:17 left in the 3rd quarter with the Trojans tying it up with 2:15 left in regulation.
10/29 JV vs Dartmouth:
The Trojans JV football team beat the Dartmouth Indians by a score of 36-22. The Oline of Sean Whitaker, Evan Shockley, Charlie Driscoll, Dom Shea, Mike Vasquez and Nick Falconieri blocked well all day as the Trojans didnt punt once all day. Ryan Martin, Mike Munro and Ryan Newton played well. Freshmen vs Dartmouth: A group of defensive linemen including Nick Whittemore, Andrew Sargent, Willie Fuller, Therone McQueen, Dan Thompson, Connor Reagan, Brandon Connelly and Connor O'Leary combined to deliver a dominant performance early on in helping the freshmen pitch a 30-0 halftime shutout en-route to a 38-15 win over Old Colony League foe Dartmouth. With three games remaining, the freshmen remain undefeated at 7-0.
10/28 Varsity vs Dartmouth:
A big OCL win for the Trojans as they handled Dartmouth rather easily 30 -6 with a ball control offense and dominating defense. Nick Schlatz132 yrs on 26 carriesand Branden Morin 138 yrs on 13 carries including an opening quarter 68 yrs TD run carried the load for the Trojans. David Miller made the start in place of injured Brad Deluliis and prove more then capable of handling the job.
10/25 Freshmen "B" vs Xaverian "B":
Relishing the opportunity for some considerable playing time, a group of predominantly second-string freshmen played well in defeating Xaverian's freshmen "B" team 22-0 at home. Gavin Perry made an impressive fourth quarter touchdown catch on a long pass from Matt Clement and Joey Pantano converted the ensuing two-point play to provide the final score. Also scoring in the contest were Alex Prisco and Jack Connolly. Connor Reid added a two-point conversion as well.
10/24 JV vs Xaverian:
10/22 Varsity vs Xaverian:
It seems off late that when playing Xaverian it means overtime and that is exactly what occured again at the Hank's field. Tied 14 - 14 at the end of regulation time. The Trojans ranked 10th in the state then proceeded to score twice in the double overtime victory to 5th ranked Xaverian who managed to only put one in the end zone. Nick Schlatz and Branden Morin had hugh games for the Trojans and Eric Wabrek intercepted the Hawks pass into the end zone in the second OT period to seal the victory.

10/20 Freshmen vs Xaverian:
Isiah Bell scored three times and recorded an interception on defense to spark the freshmen to a dominating 32-8 win over Xaverian. Bell found the end-zone from 45 yards out on B-R's second play from scrimmage, he later punched in another touchdown from the one-yard line (after John Marotta returned an interception deep into Xaverian territory), and he returned the opening kickoff of the second half to the house giving the Trojans an insurmountable 32-0 advantage. Brandon Gallagher also scored on a 48-yard touchdown run and right tackle Nick Whittemore recovered Andrew Noviello's fumble in the end-zone for his first career touchdown. The freshmen had a lackluster 1-for-5 performance on two-point plays, with the exception being Cory Wasylow's reception from Noviello. But with the win, the freshmen will enter Old Colony League play undefeated at 6-0, having outscored opponents a combined 172-40.
10/15 Varsity vs LaSalle Academy:
The Trojans used a fake punt and fake field goal attempt to good advantage to keep possession of the ball and to put points on the board. LaSalle also helped by committing penalties to shot themselves in the foot. Leading 14 - 10 with 3 seconds remaining in the half B-R executed a fake field goal, Kevin Wadsworth pass to Brendan Page for a TD, to make the score 21 - 10. The Trojan defense played a strong second half to keep LaSalle at bay. The Trojans ran out the clock on a 55-yard 9 play drive ending with Brendan Moren scoring on a 4-yard run to make the final score 27 - 16.
10/11 JV vs Brockton:
The Trojan JV football team had a very hard fought physical game with Brockton high school on Tuesday. The score of the contest was 6-6. Dave Miller connected with Mike Munro for the only score of the game for the Trojans.
10/8 Freshmen vs Brockton:
With a fumble recovery and an over 50-yard return for a score on the last play of the game, Connor Reagan provided the finishing touches on a fairly ugly 28-6 win over Brockton to keep the freshmen undefeated at the midway point of the season. Earlier in the game, quarterback Andrew Noviello connected with Reagan for go-ahead touchdown pass after Brockton scored on the game's opening possession. Isaiah Bell provided B-R's two other scores with a kickoff return and a touchdown run.
10/1 Varsity vs New Bedford:
B-R went 3 - 1 on the season defeating New Bedford 20 -14 in a chippy game. The Trojans needed some key defensives stops late in the game as the Whalers were driving to get the tying score on the board and possiblly go ahead on a successful PAT. Eric DeMoura and Spencer Poh were the hammers who nailed the door shut on New Bedford. B-R went ahead 14 - 0 in the first half on TD runs by Brad Deluliis and Branden Morin before New Bedford put one on the board just before the half ended to make it 14 - 7. The Whalers tied the score early in the 3rd quarter but the Trojans came right back early in the 4th quarter. The two point conversion attempt failed. Deluliis has to be looking forward to the bye week to rest up and heal as he turned in a gritty performance playing on a sprained ankle which occurred early in the game. JV: The JV football team ran their record to 4-0 by defeating the New Bedford Whalers by a score of 36-0. Arcel Armstead scored twice, Brendan Page scored from 50 yards out, Dave Miller on a QB run and Anthony Gallo had 1 yard run in. Ryan Scripter caught two extra points. On defense and special teams, Devin Morris was in on 6 tackles. Mike Munro and Pat Wholley played well. The Trojans take on Brockton High School next Tuesday. Freshmen: Isaiah Bell scored from midfield on B-R's first offensive play of the game to set the tone early as the freshmen pitched a 36-0 shutout victory over New Bedford on the road. The win marked the first for the freshmen over the Whalers in two years. Brandon Gallagher, Cam Goodrich and Joey Pantano also scored rushing touchdowns while Andrew Noviello connected with Connor Reagan for a touchdown pass. Connor Reid played an excellent game at multiple positions and the second-string offense sustained a long fourth quarter scoring drive. The freshmen, who to date have outscored opponents 112-26, start a month-long homestand next week against Brockton.
9/24 Varsity vs Marshfield:
The Trojans ran off 21 straight points taking advantages of turnovers after Marshfield took the opening kick-off and drove 75 yards to take a 6 – 0 lead. B-R’s senior Eric Wabrek contributed to the effort scoring twice and recording an interception. Seniors Nick Schlatz and Brendan Morin both scored a TD for the Trojans. Senior QB Brad Deluiis hit some timely passes in the game as well as contributing with his running ability. B-R lead at half-time 21 – 9 and finished the Rams off with a solid defensive performance in the second half. Final score was 28 – 15. JV: The B-R JV football team defeated the Marshfield Rams 28-6. Arcel Armstead rushed for over a hundred yards and had a nice touchdown run. Ryan Scripter caught two touchdown passes and Anthony Gallo ran hard all day and scored a touchdown. The Trojans moved their record to 3-0. up next is New Bedford Freshmen: Andrew Noviello ran for a touchdown and connected with Connor Reagan on a deep pass for another as the freshmen rolled to a 22-6 victory over Marshfield and improved to 3-0 on the season. Isaiah Bell ran hard throughout the game and punched in a late second quarter score to put the Trojans up 22-0 at halftime. It was the best overall performance in the trenches so far this season as both the offensive and defensive lines controlled play against much bigger Marshfield opponents.
9/16 Varsity at Durfee:
The Trojans dominated in a convincing 35 - 6 win against Durfee. The B-R ground game was in full gear as Nick Schlatz rushed for 80 yards, Brad Delulis 60 yards and 1 TD, Arcel Armstead 60 yards, 1 TD, and Brendan Morin 40 yards. Delulis threw 2 TD passes, a 20 yard pass to Dan Noviello and a 10 yarder to Seamus Sullivan. JV:The Bridgewater- Raynham JV football team had a big win over Durfee High School by a score of 35-0. Ryan Martin had an impressive day returning kicks. Arcel Armstead played well and so did the Oline. The Trojans JV team takes on Marshfield next Monday. Freshmen: After jumping out to a 30-6 halftime advantage over Durfee, the freshmen held on in the second half for a convincing 36-14 victory. With the win, the Trojans improved to 2-0 on the young season and will look to keep improving week-to-week.
9/9 Varsity at Duxbury:
The Trojans had a tough night in their opening game of the season being shutout by the Duxbury Dragons 26-0. It was a scoreless first quarter but Duxbury put up 12 points in the 2nd quarter. The bright spot for B-R was the running of Nick Schlatz 45 yards on 15 carries. JV: The Bridgewater Raynham JV team had a convincing win over the Duxbury Dagons. The Final score was 33-6. Arcel Armstead returned a Kickoff for a Touchdown. Kevin Newton and Charlie Driscoll played well on Defense. Brendan Page had a couple nice runs. Freshmen: After some early first half mental mistakes and untimely penalties, the freshmen scored three unanswered touchdowns to kick off the season with an 18-6 win over Duxbury. By applying significant pressure with the defensive line, B-R held the Green Dragons' pass-oriented spread attack to just three completions. Therone McQueen and Cam Goodrich forced two sacks apiece while Andrew Sargent recorded one.  McQueen also ran for two scores and Brandon Gallagher sealed the win with a late fourth quarter touchdown.  The freshmen were 0-for-3 on two-point conversion attempts.
