News from Brookmeadow Country Club .
Captain elect Ryan Swart playing with Bridgewater Raynham teammates Andy Pryles ,Matt Lafond and Connor Anderson in a practice round in preparation for the MIAA State tournament made a hole in one on the par 3 ,15th hole . The yardage on the hole was 210 and the club used was a 3 hybrid .
Congratulations Ryan , Good luck tomorrow .

10/24 OCL Golf Tournament: The OCL Golf Tournament was played today ,10/24/12 at Old Scotland Links and BR's number one golfer Avery Benvissuto shot 72 to win medalist honors . Avery and teammates Captain Andy Pryles, Captain elect Ryan Swart and freshman Connor Anderson were named to the OCL All Star Team . Medals were awarded to golfers with the top 10 scores . In addition to Avery's first place finish Austin Bickford 5th place ,Andy Pryles, Jeff Newberg tied for 6th place , Ryan Swart , and Connor Anderson tied for 10th place and all received awards .

10/22 MIAA State Tournament: The BR golf team played in the MIAA State Golf Tournament at Brookmeadow Country Club . They finished in 10th place with a score of 352. Twelve teams competed for 3 spots in the finals which will be played 10/29/12 at Norton Country Club . Avery Benvissuto lead all BR golfers with an 83 . The cut for individuals to advance to the finals was 77. Capt. Andy Pryles and Capt elect Ryan Swart both shot 88. Jeff Newberg and Connor Anderson shot 93 and Matt LaFond shot 95 . The top four scores are used for the team score . The team will compete in the last competition of the season in the OCL Tournament which will be played Wednesday 10/24/12 at Old Scotland Links .

Tournament format was a TEXAS SCRAMBLE , Everyone hits a tee shot , the captain selects the best shot and everyone plays their own ball into the hole .
Two scores were counted on each hole . The tournament was 9 holes followed by pizza , refreshments and prizes in the new Old Scotland Links Club House .
Special thanks to Mrs Newberg and all the parents who arranged for refreshments etc.

10/16 Varsity Golf Team Short Game Competition: The BR varsity golf team had a short game competition today and it came down to a chip off between Andrew Wolsky and Mike Frost . Mike went first and from about 25 ft stuck it about 14 inches from the hole . Andrews shot finished a few inches outside of Mike's ball . Congratulations Mike for your first place finish and nice job Andrew.
10/10 Varsity vs Golf: The BR golf team played a home match with Brockton H S under very difficult weather conditions The match began during a light drizzle but after several holes the rain became heavier and heavier . The match was called after six holes due to pouring rain . Based on the six holes played BR defeated Brockton by a score of 152 or 8 over par to 175 or 31 over par .The win qualifies the team for the MIAA State Golf Tournament which will be played on Oct 22 at Brookmeadow C C . BR will be bringing their top six golfers to compete for a spot in the State finales which will be played at Norton C C on Oct 29.

10/9 Varsity vs Dartmouth: The BR golf team lost to Dartmouth H S in an OCL League match played at Allendale C C . The match came down to the last foursome with BR losing by one stroke . BR's record is now 5 and 5 with two matches remaining . The team still needs one more win to qualify for the MIAA state Tournament.

10/5 Varsity vs Durfee: The BR golf team defeat Durfee H S in a non league match played at Montaup C C in Portsmouth Rhode Island .The scoring system used was the Stableford system which awards points for Eagles , Birdies , Pars and Bogeys .Avery Benvissuto lead all golfers with 27 points shooting 39 making an eagle 3 on a par 5 hole .Connor Anderson shot a 38 with 26 points . The win moves the golf team within one win of qualifying for the MIAA golf tournament

10/4 Varsity vs Bristol/Plymouth: The BR golf team played a non league match against Bristol Plymouth H S at Old Scotland Links .The format played was match play ,one point per hole for a total of 54 points . BR won 31 1/2 to 22 1/2 . Bristol Plymouth's leading scores shot 35, 36 and 38 but BR depth prevailed . Avery Benvissuto lead all BR scores with an even par 36.
10/3 Varsity vs Durfee: The BR golf teamed played a home match at Old Scotland Links against non league opponent Durfee high School . BR won by a score of 251 to 282 . Jeff Newberg lead all scores with a 2 over par 38 and Andrew Wolsky playing in his first varsity match shot 44.

9/25 Varsity vs Barnstable: The BR golf team lost a close match to Barnstable H S , 246 to 242 . Avery Benvissuto lead all BR golfers with a one over par 37 and Tom Miller shot 44 as he played his first varsity golf match
