Meet Notes 2009 - 2010 Season
2/6 Cransberry League Meet: The Lady Trojans had their Cranberry league meet at Somerset on 2/6/10. The B-R team had their best meet thus far this season, with their season high team score of a 137.7. Though this score wasn't enough to beat the 3 time state champions Barnstable or the new power house team of Nauset High school. The Trojans weren't upset though, they were officially announced as the Cranberry North Division Champions because of their 7-0 season record! The competition wasn't just a team competition, but also an individual competition. Senior Captain Jillian Kitterick placed in all the events she competed, taking a 6th on Bars with 8.2, 2nd on beam with a 8.7 and 5th on floor with an 8.8. As for the All Arounds who were in their own awards division, Freshman Mary Korotsky took 6th with a 35.35 and Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi took 5th with a 35.9. Next for the Trojans is wait and see if they qualify to the MIAA South Sectional competition on Saturday 2/20 and which individuals will qualify to the State Individuals competition held next Sunday 2/14.
1/26 vs Higham/Scituate: The Lady Trojans finished their regular season yesterday 1/26 with another win over Hingham/Scituate! This makes the Trojans undefeated!!! The final score for the competition was B-R with the second highest score of the season with a 137.5 to Hingham/Scituate's 133.05. The Trojans dominated each event, with vault scores of an 8.9 by Freshmen Mary Korotsky, and 8.5 by Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten, bars scores of Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi 9.05 and Mary Korotsky 8.8 and Senior Captain Jillian Kitterick's 8.55. Beam was a little bit of a disappointment due to the fact of counting 3 falls, but Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi came though with a stuck routine with a 9.0. On floor Kelsey Baumgarten tumbled to an 8.4 , Jillian Kitterick and Rachel Livolsi danced to an 8.8 and Mary Korotsky out scored them all with 9.1. The Lady Trojans will compete against the best in the North and South Cranberry League Meet on 2/6 at Somerset High School.
1/23 vs Brockton: The Lady Trojans are no 6-0 for the 2010 Cranberry North Gymnastics Season. The Trojans defeated Brockton's 107.2 with a 136.1. The score reflects having to counting 5 falls for the trojans, which would add almost 3 points to their overall score. The top scores for the Lady Trojans were Freshman Mary Korotsky with a 9.3 on Vault and 9.0 on Bars. Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten 8.5 on Vault and 8.3 on Bars. Senior Captian Jillian Kittericks 8.4 on Bars and her 8.5 on beam despite a fall, and an 8.5 on floor. Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi had a great meet with a season high 9.3 on bars an 8.7 counting a fall on beam and a meet high on 8.8 on floor. The Trojans will hope to finish their regular season with a win against Hingham on Tuesday 1/26 at MGC Hingham.
1/21 vs Silver Lake: The Lady Trojans are still on their winning streak for 2010! The Trojans defeated Silver Lake/Pembroke on Thursday 1/22 with season high 137.65 to Silver Lake/Pembroke's 124.35. Junior Kathryn Stoehr had a great meet with an 8.5 on vault and 8.2 on beam. Senior Captain Jillian Kitterick swung bars for 8.2 and tumbled her way to her season high of an 8.8 on floor. Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten also had her season highs on Vault with 8.8 and floor with 8.6. Standout freshman Mary Korotsky had the top scores on vault with an 8.8, bars with 9.0 and beam with 8.6 and came second to Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi on floor with 9.1. Rachel had a great meet as well with an 8.7 on bars, 8.5 on beam with an unfortunate fall, and an outstanding 9.15 on floor. The Trojans hope to continue their winning streak against Brockton on Saturday 1/24 at home at Spectrum.
1/20 vs Rockland/Hanover: The Lady Trojans are now 4-0 for the 2010 gymnastics season. The Trojans defeated Hanover/Rockland on Wednesday 1/20 with a 132.1 to Hanover/Rockland's 122.4. Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten having her best meet to date scored an 8.7 on Vault an 8.2 on Bars and a season high on floor with 8.5.Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi had a steady meet with an 8.7 on bars an 8.7 on beam despite a fall and an 8.9 on floor. The standout of the meet was freshman Mary Korotsky who scored an 8.8 on Bars , 8.6 on beam and an 8.8 on floor. The Trojans will hope to remain undefeated against Silver Lake on Thursday 1/21.
1/16 vs Notre Dame: The Lady Trojans are still undefeated after this weekends competition on Saturday 1/16. The Trojans defeated Notre Dame with a 137.4 to 135.4. Senior Captain Rachel Livosli had an outstanding meet with a 9.0 on bars an 8.6 despite a fall and a 9.2 on floor. Freshman Mary Korotsky had her best meet of the season with an 8.9 on vault, 8.8 on bars and 8.8 on beam and 9.2 on floor. Senior Captain Jillian Kitterick definitely came through when it counted with a 8.4 on bars a season high 9.0 on beam and an 8.7 on floor. The trojans were missing Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten, but up and comers Kathyrn Stoehr and Maddie Smalls came through. Kathryn with 8.3 on Floor and Maddie with 8.3 on beam definitely helped towards the season high team score. The trojans will hopefully continue their winning streak on Wednesday 1/20 at Hanover/Rockland.
1/13 vs Cohasset/Norwell: The Lady Trojans are now 2-0 for their 2010 Gymnastics season. The Trojans defeated Cohasset/Norwell on Wednesday 1/13. BR scored a 128.6 to Cohasset/Norwell's 123.7. Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi and Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten had the meet high vault scores with an 8.2. Also, Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi had a great meet scoring the meet high on Bars with a 9.0 and right behind her was Freshmen Mary Korotsky with an 8.8. On Balance beam Senior Captain Jillan Kitterick and Rachel Livolsi stuck their beam routines for what seems like a low 8.1, well Freshmen Mary Korotsky scored a nice 8.6 for her floor routine. Though the team score was uncharacteristically low, they are still happy with their win and will hopefully bring in a high team score at their next competition on Saturday 1/16 at Home against Notre Dame.
1/9 vs Marshfield: The Lady Trojans had their first gymnastics meet of the season on Saturday 1/9. The Trojans came out with the victory! They out scored the Marshfield's 128.25 with a 134.45. Some highlights of the competition were Freshman Mary Korotsky with meet highs on Vault with a huge 9.35 on vault and a 9.1 on Bars. Junior Captain Kelsey Baumgarten had a consistent meet with a 8.6 on Vault 8.3 on bars and 8.3 on floor. Senior Captain Jillan Kitterick had a fall on bars, but came back on beam with an 8.7 and an 8.3 on floor. Senior Captain Rachel Livolsi had the meet highs on beam with an 8.9 and on floor with 8.8. The Lady Trojans lost 3 key seniors last year, but are working their way back up! The goal for the season is to go undefeated in their new league of the Cranberry North and to hopefully qualify to the South Sectional competition in February. |
