The defense of Ryan Murphy, Matt Clement, Matt Miller, Charlie Driscoll, Anthony Sorrenti, Justin Sullivan, Tim O'Connor, Kyle McDonough, Thomas Miller, Jimmy Gaffney, and Nick Chappel played aggressive and unified lacrosse in the second half. B-R had seven different scorers in the game. JV: The Trojans came out on fire on offense scoring the first 3 goals of the game. Dartmouth scored soon after to make it a 3-1 game. BR scored two more goals to make it 5-1 after the first quarter. BR controlled the second quarter as well by dominating the ball on offense and playing smothering defense. The Trojans went into half time with a 9-1 lead. Both teams defenses were the story in the third quarter as both teams went scoreless. The fourth quarter also belonged to BR as they outscored Dartmouth 3-1 in the final quarter for a final score of 12-2. BR's goal scoring came from multiple players including Mike Rizzo, Mike Pyne, Josh Daisy, Tom Rizzo and Nathan Deleo.
5/6 Varsity vs Barnstable:
The Trojans suffered a tough loss on the road at Barnstable on Monday. With both teams playing tight defense, and both goalies in the zone, scoring chances were at a premium. Early on, the Trojans forced a few opportunities, with little to show. But, despite trailing at the end of the first and second quarters, B-R kept fighting, taking a tie game into the final quarter. The Trojans were outscored 3-1 in the final twelve minutes. Goalie Matt LaFond had six saves, and goal scorers were: Travis Reid (2g,1a), Truman Daniels (1g), Matt Miller (1g), and Cam Goodrich (1g,1a). A great team effort was turned in by all. JV: A rematch of the closest game of the year came down to the wire once again. The game started with an early Barnstable goal, but the Trojans came back witha goal of their own by Trevor Lunn to tie it up in the first quarter. BR then took the lead on a Josh Daisy goal to put them up 2-1 going into half time. The second half proved to be just as exciting as the first half as both teams were determined to win the game. Barnstable tied the game up at 2-2 midways through the third quarter and then took the lead in the beginning of the fourth. With BR being down 3-2, Alex Torres-Smith scored a timely goal to tie the game up once again. A Barnstable goal and a Trojan goal from Mike Pyne put the game at 4-4, but a late goal from Barnstable sealed the deal late in the game. Ryan Murphy had his best game of the season as he made great save after great save to keep BR in the game.
5/4 Varsity vs Medford:
The Trojans traveled north, to take on Division One opponent Medford on Saturday night. After a somewhat sloppy start, the Trojans were able to grind through the Mustang's zone defense to earn four goals in the first quarter. B-R kept the pressure on, opening up a 10-0 lead in the third quarter. Some penalties by the Trojans allowed the host Mustangs to get some man-up looks for goals. The Trojans have five different players scoring goals, and four more chipping in with assists, exhibiting their mission of finding the "one more". The Trojans travel to Maritime League rival, Barnstable, on Monday. JV: BR went into Medford with a hot offense and a stifling defense, which served to be true once again. Mike Pyne lead the way with 4 goals along with Mike Rizzo racking up 4 assists. Nathan Deleo also netted a goal and played big in the Trojan offense all game long. Brian Lundstedt, Matt Lemay, Zach Fries, Mickey Lombard, Drew Pickett and Alex Torres-Smith all played great for BR at midfield the whole game.
5/1 Varsity vs Silver Lake:
The Boys Lacrosse team earned a non-league win over Silver Lake on Wednesday. After letting up a quick goal, the defense settled down and held the Lakers in check for most of the game. The offense, as they have all season, moved the ball well, and distributed the scoring. The Trojans had a season-high eleven different goal scorers, with five players netting multiple goals. The Trojans look to keep it rolling at Medford on Saturday night. JV: The Trojans went into Silver Lake looking to get off their current two game losing streak. The offense for the Trojans looked like a well-oiled machine the whole game. The ball movement and unselfishness allowed BR to put this game out of hand early. The combination between attackmen Josh Daisy and Tom Rizzo accounted for 6 goals between the two of them due to great passing from all of the offensive players. The defensive clearing from goalie Ryan Murphy, Danny Sullivan and Andrew Rodrigues and the intense pressure from Dylan Carrerro, Jonathan Cox and Mason Owens were the major factor in the win for the Trojans.
4/29 JV vs Norwell:
A rematch of the week before, BR went to Norwell to try to avenge their loss just four days prior. This time the Trojans came ready to play and made this game very interesting until the end. Norwell took control early in the game by storming out to a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter was much more even as both teams scored 2 goals to leave Norwell up 5-2 going into half time. The third quarter proved to belong to virtually no one as Norwell scored one goal late in the quarter to put them up 6-2. The fourth quarter belonged to the Trojans who scored 4 goals in the quarter and made this game much tighter. Norwell ended up scoring 2 goals late in the game to make BR's efforts too little too late. Both teams collectively all played very well and it was a hard fought game throughout.
4/27 Varsity vs Nantucket:
The Boys Lacrosse team traveled to Nantucket in Maritime League action on Saturday. After some sloppy play to start the game, the Trojans were able to capitalize on a number of penalties, to open up a lead. The defense played aggressively, but in control. Goalie Matt LaFond had 7 saves, and Kyle "Bubba" Talyor added 2 saves. B-R had eight different goal scorers and two others chipping in with assists. With the win, the Trojans have qualified for the Division I State tournament for the fourth consecutive season!
4/25 JV vs Norwell: The beginning of the game between BR and Norwell seemed like it was going to be a very close game down to the wire. The score was tied at 1-1 with six minutes gone in the first quarter, but then Norwell took control of the game. The Trojans couldn't seem to find anything on offense after their first goal. Norwell played very good defense and made it tough for the Trojans to build momentum. The goalie for Norwell proved to be the difference in the game as he made amazing save after save. The defense for the Trojans played solid as a unit, but it wasn't enough to get the win.
4/24 Varsity vs New Bedford:
The Trojans traveled down to New Bedford and earned a Maritime League victory over the host Whalers. Do-it-all offensive player, Cam Goodrich, got the scoring going early, and the Trojans didn't look back. Joe Levy (2g), Travis Reid (4g), Gavin Perry (4g), Anthony Gallo (1g), and Truman Daniels (1g) all scored for B-R. The Trojans play at league opponent Nantucket on Saturday. JV: After a tough loss to Hingham, the Trojans went into New Bedford looking to get back to their winning ways. Mickey Lombard, Sam MacKillop and Matt Lemay all played very well as midfielders on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball throughout the game. BR's offense was very strategic, always making the extra pass to the open man, which lead to easy goals. The defensive played as a very solid unit the whole game and made it very hard for the Whalers to get anything offensively. The goalie play between Ryan Murphy and Mike Pyne, with both making great saves all game, allowed the Trojans to preserve the shutout.
4/22 JV vs Hingham: The Trojans faced a very tough Hingham team at home after coming off two solid wins. Hingham came out firing on all cylinders and put this game out of reach early. The Trojans did all they could do to stop Hingham's offense but ball movement and ground balls seemed to be the difference.
4/20 Varsity vs Wayland:
The Boys Lacrosse team suffered their first defeat at the hands of a strong Wayland team. Both teams' defenses and goalies were outstanding. The score at half-time was 1-1, showing how even the teams were. In the second half, the visiting Warriors were able to find some shooting space and capitalized. The Trojans started to claw back with a goal in the fourth quarter. Matt Cicalis and Anthony Gallo had a goal each, while goalie Matt LaFond had ten saves. The Trojans next play at Maritime League opponent New Bedford.
4/18 Varsity vs Martha's Vinyard:
In their first game of their inaugural April tournament, the Trojans got on the board early, and never looked back in their victory over Martha's Vineyard. As they have all season, the Trojans moved the ball well, and distributed the scoring, with seven different players scoring goals, and three others adding assists. Truman Daniels, Gavin Perry, and Travis Reid all notched hat tricks. Defensemen Ryan Murphy (1g), and Matt Clement (1a) cleared the ball well, and contributed to the scoring.

JV: The Trojans kept their solid play up against Natick. Offensively BR moved the ball very well throughout the whole game which lead to some easy goals. Zach Fries, Josh Daisy, Mike Rizzo and Trevor Lunn all played very well offensively. The hustle play at midfield from Brenden Page, Alex Torres-Smith,Anthony Keyes and Adam Nedell was a major factor in the outcome. Ryan Murphy had a great game in net by making big saves to keep Natick from every finding its groove offensively.
4/10 Varsity vs Dartmouth: T
he B-R offense continued to move the ball well, and distributed the scoring in their league win over the Dartmouth Indians. The defense was aggressive all day, and goalies Matt LaFond and Kyle Taylor backed the strong defensive effort. JV: The Trojans rallied after coming off a very close loss to Barnstable by beating the Dartmouth Indians 7-3. The Trojans came out with a fast offense lead by goals from Tom Rizzo, Josh Daisy, Mike Pyne. The offense moved the ball well the whole game and kept Dartmouth from ever having any type of momentum. The defense was the key to the victory for the Trojans. Between the likes of Mason Owens, Jonathan Cox, Andrew Rodrigues, Dylan Carrerro, and Danny Sullivan all rotating throughout the whole game, the Trojan defense kept the Indians from having any type of quality possessions which allowed the offense many goal scoring chances.
4/8 Varsity vs Barnstable:
The Boys Lacrosse team was able to earn a hard-fought win over Maritime League foe, Barnstable, on Monday. The game was tightly contested, and was not secured until goalie, Matt Lafond (10 saves) made a save with 20 seconds to go. Scoring for the Trojans were: Gavin Perry (2g,2a), Truman Daniels (2g,1a), Travis Reid (1g,1a), Anthony Gallo (1g), and Cam Goodrich (1g). JV: The Trojans faced a tough task of going against a tough Barnstable team, but were up for the task. The Trojans jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter due to solid defense and good ball movement on the offensive end. The second quarter was a different story as Barnstable started to gain some momentum and took the lead going into half time. Mike Pyne scored a pair of goals to get the Trojans back in striking distance going into the fourth quarter. The Trojans scored with 3 minutes left in the game to cut it to 7-6 and had some great opportunities to score but couldn't find the back of the net. In a close but exciting game, the Trojans fall to a 1-2 record.
4/3 Varsity vs Pembroke:
The Trojans offense was able to overcome some early struggles to pull away from the home Pembroke Titans. The defensive unit bailed the offense out on multiple occasions, and made tremendous plays to kill Pembroke momentum. Defensively, Matt Miller, Charlie Driscoll, Matt Cicalis, Tim O'Connor, and Ryan Murphy turned in strong performances. Goalie Matt LaFond continued his strong play, making 9 saves. B-R is home on Monday against league rival, Barnstable. JV: The Trojans took off to a fast start by scoring the first 3 goals of the game and never looked back. The Trojans were very successful all game with their fast break opportunities as well as moving the ball around on offense. Mike Rizzo had a great game on offense with tallying 3 total points which kept the Offense rolling. Trevor Lunn also played well on the offensive end with a goal and an assist. The defense played well as well as Ryan Murphy in net and stopped Pembroke several times with their suffocating pressure and success on ground balls.

Also scoring for the Trojans were: Nick Ferrigno (2g,3a), Matt Cicalis (1g,1a), Tim O'Connor (1g), Cam Goodrich (1g), and Connor Reid (1g). Brandon Gallagher also chipped in with an assist. The Trojans are home again on Monday against Maritime League foe, Nantucket.JV: With it being the first game of the season, the Trojans played very well. The majority of the first quarter was dictated by Norwell as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead going into the second quarter. The second quarter was much more evenly matched with both teams scoring a goal. The third quarter was dominated by the Norwell offense as the Trojans had a tough time keeping the ball out of their side of the field. The fourth quarter proved to be a strong quarter for the Trojans as they tried to make their way back in the game by scoring 3 of their 4 goals. They started to move the ball around on offense a lot better and became more more efficient with clearing the ball out of their side of the field which lead to several fast break opportunities. Zach Fries, Tom Rizzo, Sam MacKillop, and Josh Daisy played well for the Trojan Offense as did Andrew Rodrigues, Dylan Carrero and Danny Sullivan on the Defensive end.
