Game Notes 2008 Season
Freshmen vs Plymouth N 9/30:
The freshman girls were able to win their first home game of the year against Plymouth North 5 to 1, and handing Plymouth North their first loss of the year. The first goal of the game came on a well placed corner kick by Melissa Laubi to Miranda Piff for the head ball goal. The second goal of the game was scored by Chelsey Curtin as she chased down a crossed ball by Mikaela Esposito. The third goal of the first half was scored by Jess Sullivan when she placed the ball perfectly in the upper left ninety on a penalty kick. Jackie Bournazian scored the final goal of the half. Melissa Laubi scored the final goal of the game on a free kick from about 40 yards out! Jordan Quintin, Kelly Donnelly, Jess Willoughby, Kay Nickerson, and the three goalies played a great game!
Varsity vs Taunton 9/25:
B-R's offense was right on target Thursday night under the lights . Five different players scored: Leigh Cattaneo from Amanda Brown, Lindsey Maloney, Alli Weygand from Amanda Brown, Kelsie Clark from Leigh Cattaneo, and Liz Bodebsiek from Krissy Cicalis. Sweeper Lauren Kelly and defender Laura Callinan played well.Freshmen:
Varsity vs Attleboro 9/23:
Rielly Lindsey made 11 saves. Caitlyn O'Leary and Amanda Brown played well in the midfield. JV: The girls as a team played solid and the midfield played great. Jacqui Perkins played a great game as stopper. She held the defense together. Freshmen: The B-R girls were able to come out victorious as they beat Attleboro 5 to 0! Just two minutes into the game Mikaela Esposito scored her first goal. Mikaela Esposito scored her second goal of the first half on a great corner kick which was assisted by Melissa Laubi. Mikaela Esposito was able to record the hat trick as she scored her third goal of the day just five minutes into the second half. The final two goals came from Allie Chabot assisted by Chelsey Curtin, and the last goal was scored by Kim Wolonojian on another terrific corner kick by Melissa Laubi as she picked up her second assist of the day. Betsy Hinckley did a great job as the sweeper keeping the defense together. Audry Dolloff, Kim Wolonojian, and Audry Chaffee combined for the shut-out.
Varsity vs New Bedford 9/18:
Once again B-R outshot their opponent 16-7. Molly Pomroy scored off a rebound. Lauren Kelly, Kelsie Clark, Lindsey Maloney, Amanda Brown and Leigh Cattaneo all played well. JV: All the girls played a solid game of soccer.The defense held up against their fast front line.
Varsity vs Barnstable 9/16:
B-R outshot Barnstable 19-5. Reilly Lindsey had three saves. Leigh Cattaneo scored on a corner kick from Lindsey Maloney. JV The girls played great andoutplayed them the whole game. Unfortunately, the team could not capitalize. Kalie Imprescia had a solid game playing center midfield. Sarah Connelly played a good game, her first game back from an injury. Jacqui Perkins has been solid in the back field for us.
Varsity vs Durfee 9/13:
Leigh Cattaneo scored on a corner kick by Caitlyn O'Leary. Sweeper Lauren Kelly and outside defender Kelsie Clark had a great game. Amanda Brown, Alli Weygand, and Caitlyn O'Leary played well in the midfield.
Varsity vs Dartmouth 9/11: Freshmen The freshman girls played a hard foughtgame that was tied 1 - 1 with 45 seconds left in the match when Dartmouth was able to get the winning score. The B-R girls tie up the game right before half time on a goal by Mikaela Esposito. Despite the loss all of the girls played extremely well.
Varsity vs Brockton 9/4:
B-R outshot Brockton 21-8. The girls dominated the second, half but they were not able to put the ball in the back of the net.Laura Callinan played a great game. Laura shot down Brockton's number one goal scorer. Lauren Kelly and Lindsey Maloney had a good game in defense as well. Freshmen vs Brockton: The B-R freshman girls were victorious in their first game of the season winning by the score of 7 to 0! The first half goals were scored by Sarah Vitali and assisted by Jordan Quintin, Jordan Quintin assisted by Mikaela Esposito, Allie Chabot unassisted, and Chelsey Curtin assisted by Miranda Piff. The second half goals were scored by Miranda Piff unassisted, Chelsey Curtin assisted by Jess Sullivan, and Miranda Piff assisted by Chelsey Curtin. Kim Wolonojian played great in net during the first half, and so did Audry Dolloff during the second half with the both of them combining for a shut out. Betsy Hinckley did a terrific job on defense along with Melissa Laubi, Kelly Donnelly, and Jess Sullivan. A terrific game played by all of the girls!
Varsity vs Pembroke 9/2:
Amanda Brown scored the first goal of the season after she took the ball away from a Pembroke defender. Leigh Cattaneo scored the second goal on an assist by Krissy Cicalis. Cattaneo scored her second goal of the game from a kick by Caitlyn O'Leary.Reilly Lindsey has three fantastic saves in the net. Lauren Kelly, Laura Callinan and Lindsey Maloney were a strong force in defense.
