Game Notes: 2010 Season
6/4 Varsity MIAA Div 1 South Sectional First Round vs Mansfield:
The following day the lady trojans traveled to play Mansfield ( 5th seed ). An infield miscue on a bad hop in the first inning allowed 2 runs to score for Mansfield. Mansfield added another run in the bottom of the 5th inning. B-R,s offense was flat and did not get going until the 6th inning. Alyssa Gray led the inning off with a basehit, advanced to second on a bunt-out by McCall, Bergeron popped out, and Brenza was hit by a pitch to put runners at first and second. Dolloff ( 2 hits ) singled to center, scoring Gray and advanced to second on the throw to the plate. With runners on second and third Alyssa Mckinnon flew out to right center on a running catch made by the centerfielder, to end the scoring threat. Mansfield advances to the next bracket with the 3-1 win. Audrey Dolloff ( 5 Ks, 3 BB, 8 hits, 1 ER , back to back games ) settled down after the first inning, worked hard and forced alot of fly/outs with her riseball as the game continued. Dolloff ( 13 wins, 9 losses ) had an MVP year on the mound for the Trojans.
6/3 Varsity MIAA Div 1 South Sectional Preliminary Round vs Whitman/Hanson:
B-R defeated 10th seed Whitman- Hanson 5-0. Audrey Dolloff pitched a gem of a game , striking out 8 batters, no walks, and allowing only 3 hits.The defense played solid led by Nicolle Brenza ( 8 PO, 1 asst. ), Rachel Bergeron ( 3 PO ), Audrey Dolloff ( 2 PO, 3 asst. ), and Alyssa McKinnon ( 7 asst. ). Slap hitters Rachel McCall ( 1 hit, 2 runs, 2 SB, 1 BB ) and Rachel Bergeron ( 2 hits, 1 run ) set the table for power hitters Nicolle Brenza ( single, double, 1 RBI, 1 run ) and Audrey Dolloff ( 2 singles, double, 2 RBIs ) to produced the runs. Amanda Wong and Alyssa Gray were credited with an RBI apiece on ground outs.
5/26 Varsity vs Taunton:
The Lady Trojans ended the regular season by defeating Taunton 2-0. Audrey Dolloff pitched a masterful game ( 14 Ks, 2 BB, 3 hits , 4th complete season shutout ) and remained poised throughout the game, shutting down a strong Taunton offense. RBI ground outs by Haley Sarcevicz (4th Inning )and Amanda Wong ( 3rd Inning ) proved the difference in securing the win for Dolloff. Rachel Bergeron ( 1 hit, 1 run )scored in the 3rd inning after reaching base on a hurried errant throw, followed by Rachel McCall who induced the same result from her slap/bunt. with both runners advancing to 2B and 3B with 1 out . Wong hit a ground out to 2B, scoring Bergeron for the 1 st run. Dolloff led off the 4th inning with a hard hit double to leftfield and was replaced by Hanna Pereira ( pitch runner ). Pereira advanced to 3B on a single to leftfield by Alyssa McKinnon, and scored on a ground out to shortstop by Sarcevicz. Defensively, Nicolle Brenza ( 14 PO, 1 asst ) Amanda Wong ( 3 asst ), and Rachel Bergeron ( 1asst. ) nullified a squeeze play in the 4th inning which ended a scoring opportunity for Taunton. Another scoring opportunity for Taunton was ended by a fine leaping catch by first baseman McKinnon in the 6th inning. Taunton threatened again in 7th inning. A walk and basehit led off the inning followed by a strikeout. With runners at first and second, another basehit loaded them up. Dolloff struckout the next batter and induced a short popup to shortstop ( McCall ) to end the game
BR ended the regular season with an overall record of 12-8, 4-4 in the OCL.
JV: The girls played a much tougher game their second go round with Taunton. Rodrique continued to be impressive at the plate (2 for 2 with two walks, 1 RBI) Micheala McCarthy also had two hits and an RBI. Julie Kaetzer had a single and RBI. Valerie Hoyle had a single and scored thr 4th run on a wild pitch.
5/25 Varsity vs Attleboro:
B-R was unable to capitalize on a couple of scoring opportunities during the game falling to Attleboro 2-1. Attleboro scored 2 unearned runs in the 5th inning following an OF error, which proved to be the difference in the game. Audrey Dolloff pitched another fine game ( 11 Ks, 0 BB, 6 hits, 0 ER ) and was tagged with the loss. Alyssa Gray ( 2 singles, double, 1 run , SB ), along with Rachel McCall ( 2 hits, 1 RBI ) led the offense. JV: Julia Milardo led off with the hot bat ( 4 for 6 , triple, double 2 singles, 2 runs scored) Valerie Hoyle was also impressive at the plate ( 4 for 5 2 singles, double, triple) Erica Warish had 3 singles, Jordan Rodrique a double and single.
5/23 Varsity vs Stoughton:
Pitchers Audrey Dolloff ( win, 4 inn., 2 Ks, 1 hit ) and Kelsey Neil ( 3 inn., 1 K, 1 hit ) combined for a 12-0 shutout against Stoughton. The offense pounded out 13 hits in the win. Led by Nicolle Brenza ( 3 runs, 2 singles, double, 2 RBIs, 3 runs ), Haley Sarcevicz ( 3 hits, 1 run, 2 RBIs ) Audrey Dolloff ( single, double, 1 RBI ), Alyssa McKinnon ( single, double, 1 RBI, 1 run ), and Amanda Wong ( 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs ). Shortstop Rachel McCall ( 6 PO, 1 asst. ), and catcher Nicolle Brenza ( 3 PO, 2 thrownout baserunners) played solid on defense. JV:The offensive attack was led by Jordan Rodrique ( 3 for 3 2 runs scored, SB) Also chipping in offensielt was Julia Mialrdo (double) Kristen Lowder (singles) Kim Cogan (3 for 4 2 runs scored) Meagan Nedell had a RBI single in her 3rd at bat up at the JV level. Julie Kaetzer was 3 for 4. The girls played solid defense and made big plays to stop the Stoughton scoring threats.
5/21 Varsity vs Barnstable:
On 05-21-10, the trojans qualified for tournament ( 12th time in the past 13 seasons ) by defeating Barnstable in an Old Colony League matchup 6-0. Audrey Dolloff picked up her 10th win ( 9 Ks, 2 BB, 8 hits ) and her 4th shutout of the season. Shining on offense was Amanda Wong ( single, triple, 2 runs ), Alyssa McKinnon ( 2 singles, 2 RBIs ), and Nicolle Brenza ( double, 2 RBIs, 1 run ). Stephanie Sylvester ( 5 putouts, 2 assists ) played a strong game at second base. JV: B-R held on for a tough win over Barnstable. Sarh Frye was perfect on the day (5 for 5, 3 runs scored) Kim Cogan ( 4 for 5, 3 runs scored) Jordan Rodrique blasted another triple and Michela McCarthy had a triple and a double. Valerie Hoyle ( 3 for 5, 3 runs scored)
5/20 Varsity vs Marshfield:
The Lady Trojans defeated Marshfield 3-2 in an 8 inning event, Marshfield scored 2 unearned runs in the 4th inning, which carried a tied game into the 8th inning. Audrey Dolloff walked and was replaced by pitch runner, Devinn Doherty, who advanced to third base on a single by Alyssa McKinnon and scored the go ahead run on an IF out by Chelsea Correia. Audrey Dolloff finished off the 8th inning with 2 Ks to pickup the win. Dolloff ( 13 Ks, 1 BB, 2 hits, 0 ER) was stellar on the mound picking up her 9th win of the season. The offense was led by Alyssa McKinnon ( 2 hits, 1 run ) and Haley Sarcevicz ( 2 hits ) JV: Timely hitting and solid defense was key in the Trojans visctory over Marshfield. Jordan Rodrique ( 2 for 4, RBI, two runs scored) and Michela McCarthy( 2 for 4 solo HR) led the team offensively. Kristen Lowder, Kim Cogan, Sarah Frye, Valerie Hoyle, and Julia Milardo all added singles. Erica Warish was the winning pitcher
5/17 Varsity vs Dartmouth:
Audrey Dolloff doubled and was the losing pitcher to Dartmouth 3-0 in an Old Colony League game. The offense managed only 3 hits against the fine pitching of K. Cadorett. Dolloff struck out 9, walked 2, gave up 10 hits, and allowed 1 ER in the defeat. Catcher, Nicolle Brenza , ( 11 putouts) threw out 2 Dartmouth baserunners on attempted steals. The lady trojans fell to an overall record of 8-7, needing 2 more wins to qualify for post season play, with 5 games remaining on the schedule. JV:A tough loss was highlighted by Jordan Rodriques back to back homeruns. (3 for 3, 3 RBI's) Valerie Hoyle also swing a big bat cranking two triples. Kimg Cogan added a single and a double and Julia Milardo two singles.
5/13 Varsity vs Marshfield:
The entire Lady Trojan staff contributed offensively and defensively with a win over Marshfield 18-4. Audrey Dolloff pitched 4 innings ( 5 Ks, 2 BB, 6 hits, 4 ER ) to pickup the win. Kelsey Neil finished the game in fine fashion ( 3 innings, 0 runs, 3 Ks, 3 hits ) in her pitching debut. The offense pounded out 20 hits in the contest. Leading the way was Audrey Dolloff ( 4 hits, a double, 1 RBI ), Rachel McCaul ( 3 hits, 4 runs ), Nicolle Brenza ( 2 runs, homerun, double, 4 RBIs ), Rachel Bergeron ( 3 hits, 1 run ), Alyssa McKinnon ( double, single , 1 run, 2 RBIs ), Alyssa Gray ( double, 2 runs, 3 RBIs ). JV:Two tough innings with a few errors proved to be the difference in a tough loss for the Lady Trojans. The game went back and forth all the way until the 7th inning. Micheala McCarthy made the defensive play in the sixth inning which saved two runs at the time and kept the socre tied 15-15. On a short hit fly ball just passed second base McCarthy came running in from centerfield to make the diving grab she then stood up and threw the runner out at home who tried to tag from third base to end the inning. Milardo (3 for 5 single, double, triple) Kristen Lowder (3 for 3, walk) and Jordan Rodrique ( 2 for 3 , triple, walk) were the offensive leaders for the Trojans. Freshman: Dartmouth made short work of the BR freshmen softball team with a score of 16-0. Kristen Lowder and Courtney Sullivan both pitched.
5/12 Varsity vs Brockton:
Fine defense, strong pitching, and timely hitting led to a win against Brockton 6-0. The winning pitcher, Audrey Dolloff, fanned 11 batters and scattered 5 hits in picking up her 2nd shutout of the season. The offense was led by Nicolle Brenza ( , 2 runs, a homerun,single 2 RBIs ), Rachel McCaul ( 3 hits, 1 run, 1 SB ), Audrey Dolloff ( double, single 1 RBI ), and Alyssa McKinnon ( 2 hits, 1 run, 2 RBIs ). JV: B-R avenged in earlier season loss to the Boxers thanks to strong pitching from Erica Warish and Karyssa Shaw ( 4 strike outs). Jordan Rodrique (2 for 3 2 runs scoreds) got the bats started for the Trojans in the second innning when she blasted a triple to center field. She would then score on a passed ball to put the first Trojan run on the board. In the 3rd inning the Trjoans scored 6 runs on hits by Lawryne Boyle, Julia Milardo, Kendra McMasters,Sarah Frye (double) Micheala McCarthy (triple) and Rodrique. The girls added a four insurance runs in the sixth on hits by Milardo, McMasters, Kristen Lowder and Kim Cogan. The girls played solid defense and did a great job buckling down the last two inning to hold their lead of 12-6. Freshman: Although the freshmen were eager for a replay of their last win against Brockton, Brockton was ready for revenge. With a close game of 6 (Brockton) 5 (BR) at the end of the first inning, BR was still hopeful. However, between the second and third inning, Brockton brought in 13 runs and managed to score another 7 after that, leaving the final score 26-7. Run scorers for BR were Maegan Nedell (2), Michaela Wellman, Courtney Sullivan (2), Erin Kelly, and Rachel Staffier.
5/10 Varsity vs New Bedford:
The lady trojans lost to New Bedford 6-1. The offense was kept in check by several fine plays by the New Bedford defense, which eliminated several run scoring threats by BR. Leading the BR offense was Nicolle Brenza ( 3 hits ), Chelsea Correia ( RBI IF single ), and Alyssa Gray ( double, 1 run ). Pitcher, Audrey Dolloff, picked up the loss ( 4 Ks, 11 hits, 4 ER ). Overall the trojans fell to 6 wins and 6 losses , 2 wins and 2 losses in the OCL. JV: Valerie Hoyle (2 singles. 2 runs scored) scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th on a passed ball in wild game against New Bedford. Valerie led off the inning with a hard hit single up the middle stole second advanced to third on a fielders choice and then scored on the pass ball. The Lady Trojans exploded for an 11-2 but then found themselves losing 12-11 after the fifth inning. The girls responded in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead, Valarie Hoyle led off with a sharply hit single, followed by Mikala Murad who used her speed to beat out a bunt. The New Bedford pitcher would retire the next two batters before Micheala McCarthy (triple, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored) came to the plate. McCarthy then cranked a two out double deep to right field scoring both Hoyle and Murad. McCarthy was called out trying to advance to third but the damage was already done. The Whalers had a rally of thier own in the top of the 7th to tie the score, but Karyssa Shaw struck out a New Bedofrd batter for the 3rd out on a full count to stop the rally at one. McCarthy and Jardan Rodrique ( 4 for 4 , 2 singles, double, triple, run scored) led all hitters for the day. Other offensive high lights were Julia Milardo ( 2 for 3 with a walk, two runs scored) and Kendra McMasters who kept the Whaler defense guessing mixing in bunts, slaps, and a hard hit single ( 2 for 3, walk). McMasters also caught a solid four innings including throwing out the one and only runner who attempted to steal on her. Julia Milardo also played solid defense including a key double play in the sixth inning where she caught a hard hit liner and threw out the girl at first who was caught off the base. Erica Warish pitched the first four innings striking out three and allowing only two runs. Freshman: The Freshmen Lady Trojans lost to New Bedford 16-1. The one run was scored by Maegan Nedell. Kristen Lowder and Nicolle Sterns each pitched.
5/7 Varsity vs Durfee:
After coming off a tough loss to Taunton, 16 hours earlier, the Trojans loss to Durfee 3-0. The offense was flat and managed only 1 hit ( Alyssa Gray) . Audrey Dolloff remained consistent on the mound ( 7 innings, 5 hits, 7 Ks, 2 ER ) and picked up the loss ( 6-5). JV: After two innings the Trojans found themselves to be behind 8-2 but in the fourth inning the bats ignited with both long and short ball and the girls made a team effort to score 10 runs and takwe the lead. The entire team contributed in the hits and runs column of this game. Mikala Murad led off the fourth by beating out a bunt single, Julia Milardo followed with another bunt single. Sarah Frye hit a sharp grounder to 3rd and reached on an error which alllowed speedsters Murad and Milardo to score. McCarthy then hit a double which scored Frye. Kendra McMasters started the offense up again by perfectly placing a bunt down the first base line for a single. Jordan Rodrique hit a two RBI single. Erica Warish and Kristen Loweder also had singles and runs scored in the inning. On the day Julia Milardo was 3 for 4 (2 singles, double, 2 runs scored) Micheala McCarthy ( 2 for 3 walk, 2 doubles, 3 runs scored) Kendra McMasters ( 3 for 4, 3 singles). Freshman: Having already faced Durfee, the freshmen lady Trojans knew the competition would be tough, but they gave their best efforts. Erin Kelly, Courtney Sullivan, and Nicolle Sterns all had a chance to pitch. Maegan Nedell brought in the run for BR. Other girls to get on base were Michaela Wellman, Courtney Sullivan, Erin Kelly, Ashley Willoughby, and Amanda Fava. The final scored was 20-1 after the 5th inning.
5/6 Varsity vs Taunton:
The Lady Trojans loss 2-1 to Taunton in the bottom of the 11th inning ( 3 + hour game ) in a hard fought game on both sides featuring fine pitching and timely defensive plays. B-R went ahead in the 1st inning after Nicolle Brenza launched a long home run over the RF fence. Taunton came back to tie the game in the 3rd inning after an IF error. The game remained tied into the bottom of the 11th inning, Taunton led off with a basehit, which was mishandled in the OF , allowing the hitter to reach second base. After striking out the next batter, an errant pickoff throw to 3B produced the winning run for Taunton ( 10-1 ) Audrey Dolloff (: 10.3 innings, 17 Ks, 7 hits, 0 ER ) pitched a dominating game and was as strong in the 11th inning as she was in the earlier innings. The intensity and energy of the entire B-R squad was evident and remained high throughout the game. JV: The Trojans offense was shut down by strong Taunton pitching and defense. Julie Kaetzer was the defensive star for the Trojans making 5 put outs at second base including a tag and throw double play. Sarah Frye (single) Kendra McMasters (single), and Micheala McCarthy(double) had the only hits for BR. Freshman: The freshmen softball team had their work cut out for them against the Taunton Tigers on Thursday. The game was close enough with a 3-1 score going into the second inning. However, Taunton seemed to find their groove and brought in 10 runs between the second and third inning. With a final score of 16-1, the game ended after the fifth inning. Kristen Lowder and Erin Kelly shared the mound. Megan Powers scored B-R's lone run.
5/4 Varsity vs Attleboro:
Attleboro picked up 2 unearned runs in the first inning leading them to a 3-0 win. Taking the loss on the mound was Audrey Doloff, who had 10 Ks, 4 BB, 4 hits, and allowed 1 ER. The B-R offense managed only 2 hits ( Audrey Dolloff, Amanda Wong ) against he fine pitching ( Azulay ) of Attleboro. JV: The Lady Trojans showeed patience at the plate collecting a team high 11 walks. Valerie Hoyle was the offensive star of the game smacking a triple and a single. Erica Warish was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and two runs scored. Sarah Frye continued her hitting ways with a double,
single walk and two runs scored. Mikala Murad, Kendra McMasters, Jordan Rodrique and Karyssa Shaw also added singles to the mix.

4/28 Varsity vs Barnstable:
Behind a strong pitching performance from Audrey Dolloff, the lady trojans picked up their 6th win of the season beating Barnstable 12-2. Dolloff struck out a season high 16 batters, walked 4, and scattered 8 hits. The offense was led by Audrey Dolloff ( 2 triples, 3 RBIs ), Alyssa McKinnon ( 2 hits, 2 runs ), Amanda Wong ( 2 hits, 1 RBI ), Haley Sarcevicz ( 2 hits, double, 1 RBI ), and Nicolle Brenza ( 4 walks, 4 runs, 1 hit, 1 RBI ). Catcher, Nicolle Brenza ( 16 PO) threw out 2 baserunners on attempted steals. The team improved to 6 wins , 2 losses overall and 2 wins , 0 losses in the OCL. JV:The Lady Trojan bats were on fire in the frigid tempearatures down in Barnstable. Leading the way offensively was Micheala McCarthy who hit two solid shots over the centerfielders head for two in the park home runs. She also had 6 RBI's. Mikala Murad was 2 for 2 with a triple bunt single two walks and four runs scored. Kendra McMasters hit a base clearing double.Sarah Frye was 2 for 2 with a double single two walks and four runs scored. Kim Cogan hit a solid single that turned into an in the park home run on a fielding error. The girls were also very patient at the plate collecting several walks and allowing everyone on the team to score. Jordan Rodrique also hit a solid single. Freshman:
4/26 Varsity vs Dartmouth:
The first OCL game of the season , 04-26-10, against Dartmouth ended in dramatic fashion with Rachel Bergeron scoring the winning run for the Trojans in the bottom of the 7th inning for the 2-1 victory. Audrey Dolloff drove in the winning run with an infield hit, which also solidified her 5th win on the mound. Dolloff struckout 10 Dartmouth hitters, scattered 3 hits and the lone run was unearned. A strong Dartmouth defense kept the BR offense quiet most of the game until the 6th inning when an RBI single By Chelsea Correia scored Amanda Wong to tie the game. The offense was led by Audrey Dolloff ( 2 hits, 1 RBI ) and Rachel McCaul ( 2 hits ). The defense was led by catcher Nicolle Brenza ( 10 PO, 1 Asst. ) and SS Rachel McCaul ( 4 PO, 1 Asst ). A great running catch by leftfielder Alyssa Gray, followed by a strikeout by Dolloff ended a bases loaded threat by Dartmouth in the 5th inning. The lady Trojans improved to an overall record of 5 wins and 2 losses.JV: Erica Wairsh and Karyssa Shaw shared the pitching duties giving up just two walks all game. Mikala Murad led the team offensively going 3 for 3 with a walk and scoring two runs. Sarah Frye continued to have a hot bat with a
double single and two RBI's. Kendra McMasters and Jordan Rodrique added singles to the mix. Erin Walsh blasted a double to left field and scored on a stolen base and passed ball. Julia Milardo playyed a solid errorless defense at short and second. The Trojans played their best defense as a
team so far this year. Freshman: The freshmen softball team lost to Dartmouth (23-3) on Tuesday. Kristen Lowder pitched all 4 innings. Courtney Sullivan, Rachel Staffier, and Michaela Wellman, scored the 3 runs for BR in the last inning.

4/22 Varsity vs Stoughton:
The Lady Trojans beat Stoughton 6-2 in a non-league game. The offense got going in the 4th inning scoring 3 runs, 2 runs in the 5th inning and 1 run in the 6th. Leading the offense was Audrey Dolloff ( 2 doubles, 1 RBI ), Rachel McCaul ( 2 hits, 1 Run, 1 RBI ), Nicolle Brenza ( 2 hits, 1 RBI, 1 Run ) Alyssa McKinnon ( 2 hits, 1 Run ), and Haley Sarcevicz ( 1hit, 1 RBI ). On the mound was Audrey Dolloff, who picked up her 4th win, striking out 8, giving up 4 hits, and allowing 1 ER. Kristin MacLellan ( 7 PO ) and Audrey Dolloff ( 4 assists ) played solid on defense.JV: The JV squad got their first win of the season playing their best defense yet. Erica Warish pitched well all 7 innings. The difference in the game was a perfectly executed bunt by the speedy Mikala Murad which forced an errant throw and scored two runs. Julia Milardo followed by hitting a single that scored Murad. Jordan Rodrique and Micheale McCarthy, Kim Cogan, Lawryne Boyle and Kendra McMasters also added singles. Freshman: The freshmen Lady Trojans had another tough loss against Stoughton on Thursday afternoon. With a tie score going into the seventh inning (14-14), it was anyone's game. Although the Stoughton girls had hot bats in the 7th and brought in 8 runs, the BR girls were still hopeful of pulling off the "w" with their last ups. However, before the team had a chance to redeem themselves, the umpire saw lightning and called the game, ending with a score of 22-14. Maegan Nedell started out on the mound pitching two innings and Courtney Sullivan pitched the remainder of the game. Amanda Fava and Erin Kelley shared duties catching. Other contributors were Megan Powers and Lexi Finnigan on 1B and Rachel Staffier at 3B. Good effort from Nicolle Sterns, Ally DeGrace, Ashley Willoughby, and Kate McGrail in the outfield.
4/20 Varsity vs Braintree:
Coupled with 2 first inning homerun blasts, fine pitching, and errorless defense; the lady trojans cruised to victory over Braintree 9-1. Audrey Dolloff struck out 9, walked none , and scattered 4 hits to pick up her 3rd win of the season. Dolloff helped herself with a 3 run homerun, and a 2 RBI single. Haley Sarcevicz also homered with a runner on. Also contributing on offense was Alyssa McKinnon ( 3 hits, 1 run, 1 RBI ) and Amanda Wong ( 1 hit, 1 run, 1 RBI ), The defense led by Nicolle Brenza ( 13 PO ) played flawless with a game ending dive by Stephanie Sylvester to snag a short popup in R. JV: Despite an early lead one tough inning gave BR a tough loss against Braintree. Sarah Frye had two singles, Mikala Murad, Jordan Rodrique and Kendra McMasters all had doubles. 4/14 Varsity vs Brockton:
The varsity softball team lost a tough game to Brockton 1-0. A couple of miscues in the outfield produced the unearned run for Brockton. Offensively the trojan bats were silent , except for Alyssa McKinnon and Audrey Dolloff ( 2 hits apiece ) and Nicolle Brenza ( 1 double ). Picking up the loss on the mound was Audrey Dolloff ( 6 Ks, 1 BB, 5 hits, and 0 ER ). JV: Julie Kaetzer, Kendra McMasters, Erica Warish and Julia Milardo each had singles. Freshman: The freshmen softball team tallied their first W this season with a 17-11 win over Brockton High. Kristen Lowder (3 hits) did a great job pitching all 7 innings for the Trojans with Amanda Fava (3 hits) catching. Good effort from Megan Powers (2 hits) and Lexi Finnigan at first base, along with Maegan Nedell (3 hits) at second base. Rachel Staffier (1 hit) and Michaela Wellman (1 hit) were strong on third, while Erin Kelley (4 hits) made some great plays at short stop. Outfielders, Nicole Sterns (2 hits), Ashley Willoughby (2 hits) and Kate McGrail (2 hits) played all seven innings with great focus.
4/12 Varsity vs New Bedford:
The Lady Trojans lost to New Bedford 7-2. The New Bedford offense took full advantage of several infield errors, which resulted in 6 unearned runs crossing the plate. Losing pitcher, Audrey Dolloff', went the distance 11 hits, 4 Ks, 1 BB, and 1 ER. Offensively the trojans had 8 hits. Leading the offense was catcher Nicolle Brenza who was 2 for 2, both hits off the leftfield fence resulting in a double, single, and 1 RBI. Freshman, Chelsea Correia, chipped in with an RBI single. Runs were scored by Rachel McCaul ( 1 run, 1 SB, 1 hit ) and Alyssa McKinnon ( 1 run, 1 hit ). JV:Sarah Frye was 3 for 3 with two doubles and both RBI's Julia Milardo added a single. Freshman:The freshmen team had another tough loss (21-3) against the New Bedford Whalers yesterday in their second game of the season. A combined effort on the mound from Courtney Sullivan, Maegan Nedell, and Nicole Sterns. Maegan Nedell also scored our first and third runs and Michaela Wellman scored the second. The girls face Brockton on Wednesday and are looking to get a W.
4/8 Varsity vs
Durfee:
the Lady Trojans beat Durfee 2-0. Audrey Dolloff got her second win on the mound, scattering 3 hits and striking out 4. The defense played errorless ball, led by Rachel Bergeron ( 4 PO), Kristen MacLellan ( 4 PO), and Devinn Doherty (3 PO). Audrey Dolloff led the offense with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Nicolle Brenza ( 1 hit) drove in the other run with a ground out in the first inning. Scoring the runs were Rachel Bergeron ( 1hit, 1 SB ) and Rachel McCaul ( 1 hit, 1 BB ). JV: Kayrssa Shaw and Sarah Frye each had singles and Kendra McMasters had a double. Freshman: The BR freshmen softball team started out the season with a tough loss to Durfee (15-0). Durfee came out with power, scoring 10 runs in the first inning and although the BR girls showed strong defensive efforts for the remaining 4 innings, they couldn't pull off the comeback. Good effort from both Kristen Lowder and Courtney Sullivan pitching and Amanda Fava and Erin Kelley at catcher. Maegan Nedell had several good plays at second base.

the Lady Trojans beat Braintree 5-3 in their season opener. Audrey Dolloff scattered 6 hits, struckout 5, and allowed 1 ER in her 7 innings of pitching; to earn her first win of the season. Nicolle Brenza led the offense with 3 hits , ( single, double,triple ) ,2 RBIs and 2 Runs..Alyssa McKinnon had an RBI single. Single runs were scored by Stephanie Sylvester, Chelsea Correia, and Rachel Bergeron. JV: Erica Warish pitched all 7 innings.
