Game Notes: 2013 Season
6/9 Varsity vs Milford, Div. I Finals: The lady Trojans fell to Milford 7-0 in the South Sectional Final. It was their first loss of the year , B-R had a fantastic year finishing the regular season at 20-0 ( school record, OCL Title ) and posting a 23-1 record overall. The offense mounted a threat with no outs in the first inning when Madi Shaw drilled a double to left and Stacey Korotsky followed with a walk. A bunt by Chelsea Correia was popped up and fell in the infield loading the bases. The umpire ruled the infield fly rule and the batter was out. The play stood after it was questioned ( by rule a bunted fly ball is an exclusion to the infield fly rule ). With one out and runners at second and third, a bunted ball was caught in the air and the runner at third, who was off on contact, was doubled off to end the only scoring threat of the game. Shaw also singled in the 3rd inning . Pitcher Sarah Dawson ( 8 hits, 2 Ks, 5 BB, 6 ER, 1 WP, 7 inn. ) got her first loss of the season after a remarkable year finishing with 23 wins and the 1 loss. The defense played a solid game led by Correia ( 8 PO ), Shaw ( 2 PO, 2 asst. ), Emily Kurkul ( 4 PO ), Stacey Korotsky ( 2 PO ), Holly Greet ( 1 PO, 2 asst. ) and Jordan Rodrique ( 2 PO ).
