Meet Notes: 2011 Season
5/10 Varsity vs Taunton: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team finished their dual meet season on Tuesday with a 102 to 34 victory over the Taunton Tigers. The win improves their record to 6-0, and clinches a fourth consecutive undefeated season, and OCL Championship. Winning events for the Trojans were: Liz Bodensieck, Melissa MacDonald, Joanna Carroll, Audrey Chaffee, Jessica Sullivan, Samantha Martin, Sarah Frye, Sarah Barnett, Madison Barron, Alison Peart, Katie Phieffer, Rose Bunszell, Eva Bunszell, and Melissa Laubi.
5/3 Varsity vs Barnstable: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team defeated an excellent Barnstable H.S. team 87 to 49, on cool and blustery Cape Cod Tuesday afternoon. The win improves the team's record to 5-0 on the season, and clinches at least a piece of the OCL Championship, with a win next Tuesday against Taunton H.S. the girl's will be outright OCL Champs for the fourth consecutive year. Winning events for the Trojans were: Kim Gabriele, Sarah Barnett, Joanna Carroll, Jess Sullivan, Sarah Frye, Liz Bodensieck, Madison Barron, Alison Peart, Katie Phieffer, Melissa Laubi, Rose Bunszell, and Eva Bunszell.
4/26 Varsity vs Dartmouth: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team traveled to Dartmouth H.S. on Tuesday and defeated a pesky Dartmouth team 91 to 45. The win makes the team a perfect 4-0, and makes them 1-0 in the OCL, the girls visit Barnstable next Tuesday. The team had its best total performance of the season, and seems to be hitting their stride at the proper time. Winners on Tuesday included: Allie DeGrace, Sarah Barnett, Joanna Carroll, Melissa MacDonald, Liz Bodensieck, Kim Gabriele, Melissa Laubi, Sarah Frye, Katie Ayers, Maddie Barron, Alison Peart, Katie Pheiffer, Eva Bunszell, and Rose Bunszell.
4/21 Varsity vs Brockton: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team continued their early season success on Thursday, defeating a fine Brockton High School Team 77 to 58. The win improved the girl's record to 3-0, and continued their 4 year winning streak. Winning events for the Trojans were: Joanna Carroll, Kim Gabriele, Liz Bodensieck, Sarah Frye, Jess Sullivan, Maureen Murphy, Alison Peart, Katie Phieffer, Sarah Barnett, Melissa Laubi, Eva Bunszell, and Rose Bunszell. The team travels to Dartmouth H.S. next Tuesday for a huge OCL showdown.
4/13 Varsity vs Durfee: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team defeated a talented group from Durfee H.S. on Thursday 84 to 52. The win improves the team's record to 2-0, with their next meet scheduled for Wednesday April 21st at 10 AM, the meet is home against Brockton H.S. Winners for B-R were: Kim Gabriele, Joanna Carroll, Liz Smith, Samantha Martin, Melissa Laubi, Sarah Frye, Sarah Barnett, Maegan Nedell, Alison Peart, Katie Phieffer, Jess Sullivan, and Rose Bunszell.
4/8 Varsity vs New Bedford: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team had their first home meet in four years on Friday, the girls defeated a very game, and strong New Bedford H.S. team 73 to 63. The team performed superbly, with many young ladies contributing to the victory. Winners for the Trojans were, Kim Gabriele, Liz Bodensieck, Melissa Laubi, Jess Sullivan, Katie Ayers, Rose Bunszell, Alison Peart, Katie Pheiffer, Sarah Barnett, Eva Bunszell, and Sarah Frye. The team will take on the Hilltoppers from Durfee H.S. next Wednesday at home. |
