Meet Notes: 2010 Season
5/20 OCL Championship Meet:The B-R Trojans Girls Track and Field Team competed in the Old Colony League Championship Meet at Taunton H.S., on Thursday afternoon. The team scores for the meet were, Bridgewater-Raynham 118, Attleboro 79, Dartmouth 65, Taunton 51, Barnstable 33. Winners for B-R included, Elisabeth Bodensieck, Megan McDonald, Katie Ayers, Molly Pomroy, Kim Gabriele, Sarah Barnett, Kassandra Aveni, and Samantha Martin. Placing in 2nd place for B-R were, Kim Gabriele, Kassandra Aveni, Jessica Sullivan, Andrea Murray, Alison Peart, Alicia Roberts, Noah Simonzi, Jacqui Perkins, Molly Pomroy, and Reilly Lindsey. 3rd Place finishers were, Katie Pheiffer, Joanna Carroll, and Melissa MacDonald. The girls had an outstanding meet, and continue to be very impressive, as they now prepare for the post-season.
5/13 vs Attleboro: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team continued to shine on Thursday afternoon, defeating a strong Attleboro H.S. Team 80 to 56, at Taunton H.S. The win runs the girls record to 4-0 in the OCL, and 6-0 overall. With the big win the team finishes the regular season as undefeated OCL Champions, it is their 3rd consecutive undefeated Championship Season. The entire team has worked extremely hard, and every person on the team contributed to the success of the team. They believed in the team concept, which is why they have been successful. The coaches are very proud to have the opportunity to work with such a fine group of young ladies, and could not be happier for them
5/5 vs Taunton: The girls continued their winning ways on Wednesday at Taunton H.S., with an impressive 94 to 42 victory, running the teams record to 5-0, 3-0 in the OCL. This sets up a showdown next Thursday at Taunton against a strong Attleboro H.S. Team for the OCL Championship. Winners for B-R against Taunton were, Megan McDonald, Sarah Barnett, Noah Simonzi, Reilly Lindsey, Isabella DeVincenzo, Jamie Correia, Kassandra Aveni, Liz Bodensieck, Melissa Laubi, Jessica Sullivan, Andrea Murray, Kim Gabriele, and Renee Beneski.
4/27 vs New Bedford:The Girls Track and Field Team defeated a strong New Bedford H.S. Team 84 to 52, on Tuesday afternoon in New Bedford. The win runs the teams record to an impressive 4-0 overall, and 2-0 in the OCL. Girls winning events for the Trojans were, Molly Pomroy, Reilly Lindsey, Noah Simonzi, Isabella DeVincenzo, Lauren Koczela, Jacqui Perkins, Elisabeth Bodensieck, Kim Gabriele, Melissa Laubi, Katie Ayers, and Megan McDonald.
4/21 vs Durfee: The B-R Girls Track and Field Team continued too impress on Wednesday, traveling to Fall River to compete against Durfee H.S., and Somerset H.S. Although Somerset was part of the meet, B-R was only scoring against Durfee. The Lady Trojans ran, jumped, and threw their way to a 98 to 30 win, making their early season record 3-0 overall, and 2-0 in the OCL. Winners for B-R included, Andrea Murray, Melissa Laubi, Jessica Sullivan, Kim Gabriele, Reilly Lindsey, Melissa MacDonald, and Jacqui Perkins. The girls take their roadshow to New Bedford on Tuesday, to take on the always strong Whalers.
4/15 vs Barnstable:The B-R Girls traveled to Dartmouth and competed against Barnstable on Thursday, coming home with a big league win 86 to 50, over the previously unbeaten Red Raiders. The win runs the Lady Trojans record to 2-0 in the OCL, and overall. Winning events for B-R were, Reilly Lindsey, Liz Smith, Jamie Correia, Katie Ayers, Elisabeth Bodensieck, Kassandra Aveni, Molly Pomroy, Noah Simonzi, Kelsey Baumgarten, and Isabella DeVicenzo. The girls will travel to Durfee H.S. next Wednesday morning to take on Durfee and Somerset.
4/7 vs Dartmouth: The B-R Lady Trojans Track and Field Team opened their 2010 outdoor season with an impressive 101 to 35 victory over Dartmouth H.S., in Dartmouth on Wednesday. Winners for B-R included, Molly Pomroy, Elisabeth Bodensieck, Kim Gabriele, Melissa Laubi, Jessica Sullivan, Katie Ayers, Reilly Lindsey, Jacqui Perkins, Isabella DiVencenzo, Sarah Barnett, Megan McDonald, and Alison Peart. The team will travel back to Dartmouth next Thursday to take on Barnstable H.S., as we patiently wait for our track to be fixed.
