Swim Meet Notes 2012 - 2013 Season
1/30 vs Sacred Heart
Boys: beat Sacred Heart 72-21 on the last meet of the season. Winning for the Trojans were Jay McGillis in the 200 & 500 free, Tim Souza in the 200 IM & 100 back, Zach Souza in the 50 & 100 free, Anthony Chaves in the 100 fly, Kyle Kennedy in diving, the medley relay of Tyler Fisher, Devin Caulfield,Jake Kirk and John Niles, the 200 & 400 free relay of Chaves, McGillis, and the Souza brothers. The boys 400 freestyle relay qualified for South Sectionals with a time of 3:40.78. Personal best times were achieved by Ian Lewis, Jeff Nessralla, Zeb Shaiginewcz, Devin Caulfield, and Kyle Gilson.
Girls: beat Sacred Heart 80-67. Leading the way for the Trojans was captain Gianna Scalisi who won the 500 free & the 100 breast stroke, also winning were Emma Bulman in the 200 IM & 100 free, Haley Wayne in the 50 free, Erica Johnson in diving, and the 200 freestyle relay of Caroline Hill, Haley Wayne, Emma Bulman, and Rebecca Golden. Personal best times were done by Ally Wilder, Meghan Tate, Melissa Juliano, Erin Lynch, Gianna Scalisi, Suzy Tekin, Kaylee Desmond, and Carly Doulette.
1/23 vs Norton
Boys: beat Norton 94-81. The Trojans were lead by Anthony Chaves, Zach Souza, and Tim Souza who each won all of their events. Chaves (200 IM, 100 Fly, T. Souza (500 free, 100 breast), Z. Souza (200 free, 100 back). Also winning was Kyle Kennedy in diving and Jay McGillis in the 100 freestyle. Many personal best times were achieved: John Niles, Jeff Nessrella, Jimmy Overstreet, Devin Caulfield, Zeb Shagiwincz. and Collin Moustakes swam the 100 fly and 500 free back to back achieving two personal best times!
Girls: beat Norton 97-83. Winning for the girls was the medley relay of Erica Johnson, Carly Doulette, Emma Bulman, and Rebecca Golden. Caroline Hill in the 200 freestyle, Erica Johnson in diving, Emma Bulman in the 100 butterfly, Rebecca Golden in the 100 freestyle, Carly Doulette in the 100 breast stroke and the 200 freestyle relay of Bulman, Haley Wayne, Ally Wilder, and Golden. Personal best times were done by Melissa Juliano, Suzy Tekin, Ally Wilder, Haley Wayne, Sam Wilder, Kaylee Desmond, Devon Caine, Kate Daversa, Emily Schallert, Erin Lynch and Bridget Newbury.
1/17 vs Coyle Cassidy
Boys: beat Coyle 46-29. Boys were lead by freshamn Tim Souza who won the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. Also taking first in the meet was the relays of Tim & Zach Souza, Anthony Chaves, and Jay McGillis (200 medley and 200 free), Zach Souza in the 200 IM, Jay McGillis in the 50 free, and Anthony Chaves in the 100 breast stroke. Personal best times were achieved by Jake Elliot, John Niles and Jake Kirk.
Girls: beat Coyle 50-38. Leading the Trjoans was sophmore Haley Wayne who won the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle and also freshman Emma Bulman who won the 200 IM & 100 fly. Also taking first in the meet was captain Rebecca Golden in the 200 freestyle, freshman Carly Doulette in the 100 breast stroke and the 200 free relay of Ally Wilder, Caroline Hill, Haley Wayne, and Emma Bulman. Personal best times were achieved by Caroline Hill, Ally Wilder, Haley Wayne, Melissa Juliano, Erica Johnson, and Carly Doulette.
1/14 vs Pope John Paul II
Boys: Pope John Paul did not have a boys team but the BR boys still swam and achieved many best times. Personal bests were done by Jake Kirk, John Niles, Zeb Shaiginewicz, James Studley, Kyle Kennedy (diving), Jake Elliot, Devin Caulfield, Tyler Fisher, Jake Kirk (diving) and Ian Lewis who had a great swim the 100 backstroke!
Girls: BR girls beat Pope John Paull II 88-74. Erica Johnson qualified in diving for South Sectionals. The Trojans were led by freshman Emma Bulman who won the 200 free and 100 backstroke. Also taking first place was the medley relay team of Caroline Hill, Sam Wilder, Gianna Scalisi, and Haley Wayne, Erica Johnson in diving, Rebecca Golden in the 100 freestyle, and Bulman, Golden, Johnson and Hill in the 200 freestyle relay. Best times were achieved by Emma Bulman, Jen Harringon, Melissa Juliano, Kristine Dunham, Erin Lynch, Meghan Tate, Lexi Hall, Suzy Tekin, Estafany Gonzalez, and Bridget Newbury.
1/10 vs Barnstable
Boys: lost to Barnstable 80-96. First place finishes were done by Tim Souza (200 IM & 500 freestyle), Zach Souza (100 butterfly & 100 backstroke), Jake Kirk (diving), and the 200 medley & 400 free relay of Souza brothers, Anthony Chaves and Jay McGillis. Many personal best times were achieved, Anthony Chaves, John Niles, Tim Souza, Jake Elliot, Jake Kirk, and Devin Caulfield.
Girls:
lost to Barnstable 79-98. Erica Johnson won diving. Best times were done by Erin Lynch, Gianna Scalisi, Meghan Tate, Sarah DaSilva, Emma Bulman, Rebecca Golden, Melissa Juliano, Devon Caine, Erica Johnson, Sam Wilder, Ali Caine, Courtney Nunes, Courtney Sheehan, and Kayleigh Figuriedo.
1/4 vs Martha's Vineyard
Boys: beat Martha's Vineyard 88-33. Anthony Chaves and Tim Souza qualified for states in the 200 IM. BR swimmers were able to win every event of the meet! Winners include: 200 Medley Relay, Tim & Zach Souza, Anthony Chaves Jay McGillis. 200 Free- Jay McGillis, 200 IM- Tim Souza, 50 Free- Jake Elliot, Diving- Kyle Kennedy, 100 Fly- Zach Souza, 100 Free- Tim Souza, 500 Free- Anthony Chaves, 200 free relay- McGillis, Chaves, Souzas, 100 back- Tyler Fisher, 100 breast- Zach Souza, 400 free relay- Jake Elliot, Chris St Louis, Tyler Fisher, Jake Kirk.
Girls: beat Martha's Vineyard 84-59. Erica Johnson scored a qualifying score for sectionals in diving. Girls were lead by Rebecca Golden (200 free), Emma Bulman (200 IM & 100 butterfly), Melissa Juliano (50 free), Erica Johnson (diving), Haley Wayne (100 free), Gianna Scalisi (500 free), Johnson, Bulman, Wayne, Golden (200 & 400 free relays), and Caroline Hill (100 backstroke).
12/19 vs Sandwich
Boys: lost an extremely close meet to Sandwich 86-93. The boys swam really well and almost beat the Sandwich boys who have won the conference the past three years. Anthony Chaves qualified for states in another event, 100 butterfly. Zach Souza won both of his events (200 IM & 100 backstroke) Personal best times were achieved by Jimmy Overstreet, Matt Wabrek, John Niles, Collin Moustakes, and Devin Caulfield.
Girls: lost to Sandwich 84-95. Haley Wayne won the 50 freestyle with a personal best time of 29.98. Freshman Emma Bulman won the 100 breast stroke and the relay of Bulman, Wayne, Erica Johnson and Rebecca Golden won the 200 freestyle relay. Personal best times were achieved by Kaylee Desmond, Gianna Scalisi, Ally Wilder, Caroline Hill, Erica Johnson, Zoe Thomas, Emma Bulman, and Suzy Tekin.
12/17 vs Nauset
Boys: lost to Nauset 81-96. Anthony Chaves, Tim Souza and Zach Souza each won all their events and continued to swim well. Anthony Chaves qualified for states in the 100 breast stroke, Zach Souza qualified for states in the 100 backstroke, and Tim Souza qualified for states in the 200 IM. Also achieving best times were Jay McGillis, John Niles, Jake Kirk, Tyler Fisher, and Kyle Gilson.
Girls: lost to Nauset 66-98. Personal best times were acheived by many girls: Melissa Juliano, Caroline Hill, Sarah DaSilva, Suzy Tekin, Jenn Harrington, Erin Lynch, and Emma Onanian.
12/15 vs Nantucket
Boys: The medley relay of Tim Souza, Anthony Chaves, Zach Souza, and Jay McGillis came in first and qualified for the state tournament. Tim & Zach both won their individual events, Tim (200 IM & 100 breast) Zach (200 free & 500 free), Jay McGillis won the 50 freestyle, and Anthony Chaves won the 100 breastroke. Personal best times were achieved by Tyler Fisher, Jeff Nessralla, Chirs St Louis, John Niles, Kyle Gilson, Collin Moustake, and Devin Caulfield.
12/11 Varsity vs Randolph
Girls: Rebecca Golden won the 100 yard freestyle. Many personal best times were achieved, Devon Caine, Suzy Tekin, Zoe Thomas, Caroline Hill, Emma Bulman, Haley Wayne, Kate Daversa, Melissa Juliano, Kayleigh Figueiredo, and Carly Doulette.
Boys: Tim & Zach Souza both won their events and each qualified individually for states.
Relay of Souzas, Anthony Chaves, and Jay McGillis won the 200 Medley relay and the 400 freestyle
Other first place finishers: Jay McGillis 50 free, Anthony Chaves 200 IM & 100 breast, 200 free relay of Collin Moustake, John Niles, James Overstreet, and Jake Elliot
