Swim Meet Notes 2011 - 2012 Season
1/31
Boys vs Taunton:
Boys swam a phenomenal meet despite losing to Taunton. Senior captain Kevin Hexamer lead the Trojans by winning all his individual events and achieving personal bests in both as well. Anthony Chaves also had a big meet by winnin the 200 IM and the 100 breast stroke. Personal best times were done by Jay McGillis, Kevin Curley, Ian Lewis, Jake Kirk, Tyler Fisher, and Joey Mele.
Gilrs vs Taunton: Girls won their final meet of the season to Taunton 61-31 bringing them to 6-3 on the season. The girls 400 freestyle relay of Kelsie Clark, Cori Spagna, Rebecca Golden, and Hope Keady qualified for South Sectionals! Girls had an all around great meet, first places finishers were Rebecca Golden (200 & 500), Gianna Scalisi, Kelsie Clark, and Caissie Niles. Best times were done by Melissa Juliano, Zoe Thomas, Meghan Tate, Chelsey Tate, Gianna Scalisi, Lexi Hall, Caroline Hill, and Courtney Sheehan

Boys vs Barnstable:
B-R boys lost to Barnstable on Friday. Best times were achieved by Jay McGillis in the 200 freestyle, James Studley in the 50 freestyle, Anthony Chaves in the 100 butterfly, Kevin Hexamer in the 500 freestyle, and Chris St. Louis in the 100 breast stroke.
Girls vs Barnstable:
B-R girls lost to an undefeated Barnstable team on Friday. Rebecca Golden took first place in the 500 freestyle and also in the 400 freestyle relay which consisted of Golden, Cori Spagna, Hope Keady, and Kelsie Clark. Despite the loss many swimmers swam exceptionally well. Personal best times were achieved by Jenn Harrington in the 200 freestyle, Ally Wilder in the 200 IM, Haley Wayne in the 50 free, Gianna Scalisi in the 100 butterfly, Melissa Juliano in the 500 free, and Kristine Dunham in the 100 breast stroke. Girls next swim against Taunton.
1/19 Girls vs Pope John Paul:
beat Pope John Paul 87-70 on Thursday night at Bridgwater State Univeristy. The team celebrated their senior night during their last home meet of the season. Starting the meet off with a win in the first event was the sectional qualifying medley relay consisting of four seniors, Caissie Niles, Kim Wolohojian, Kelsie Clark, and Cori Spagna. Other winners for the team included Rebecca Golden in the 200 yard freestyle, Kelsie Clark in the 100 yard butterfly, and the 200 yard freestyle relay of Gianna Scalisi, Rebecca Golden, Katelyn Travers, and Kim Wolohojian.
Boys:
PJP did not have a boys team, however B-R boys were able to participate in the meet and achieve many of their best times. Seniors Kevin Curley, Kevin Hexamer, and Joey Mele all achieved personal best times in their last home meet.
1/16 Boys & Girls vs Nantucket:
Both girls and boys lost to Nantucket. Girls lost 96 to 72. Boys lost 94 to 68. Despite the losses, the Trojans had their best meet all season. Boys and girls combined for 37 best times!. Kelsie Clark, Cori Spagna, and Caissie Niles all took down first place. Kristine Dunham swam a great race in the 200 IM, Cassie Butts, Zoe Thomas, and Kate Daversa had personal best times in their events. For the boys, Kevin Curley and Anthony Chaves won their event. Personal best times were achieved by Jimmy Smith, Tyler Fisher, Jay McGillis, Chris St. Louis, Collin Moustake, and Joey Mele.

Boys vs Norton:
Boys lost a very close meet to Norton 83-77. Anothony Chaves continued his great season by winning both of his events, 200 IM and the 100 breast stroke. Jimmy Smith continued to improve every meet by getting a best time in the 500 freestyle. Other best times were achieved by Jay McGillis, Chris St Louis, Jake Kirk, and Collin Moustake. Girls and boys next swim against Nantucket on Monday January 16th.
Girls vs Norton:
Girls beat Norton 94-66 bringing their record to 4-1 on the season. Senior captain Caissie Niles lead the way with two first place finishes in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Kelsie Clark had another strong performance, qualifying for South Sectionals in the 100 butterfly four years in a row! Personal best times were achieved by Courtney Sheehan, Hope Keady, Devon Caine, Sam McGrath, Kate Daversa, Caroline Hill, Melissa Juliano, and Megan Wood.

Boys vs Sandwich:
Boys lost to Sandwich 68-87. Many boys however had great races and achieved personal best times. Senior Kevin Curley got a personal best in both his events, 100 free and 100 backstroke. Chris St. Louis and Jimmy Smith also swam their personal best in both their events. St. Louis in the 100 breast stroke and the 200 freestyle, Smith in the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle. The 400 freestyle relay of Kevin Hexamer, Jay McGillis, Kevin Curley, and Anthony Chaves took first place.

Boys vs Nauset:
Boys lost their first meet of the season to Nauset 95-68. Anthony Chaves had a great meet winning both of his individual events. Personal best times were achieved by Jay McGillis (100 free), Jimmy Smith (500 free), Tyler Fisher (100 back), and Chris St. Louis (100 breast sroke). The boys next swim Sandwich on Friday January 6th
Girls vs Nauset:
Girls lost their first meet of the season to Nauset 98-67. Nauset girls had a very strong team, they were deep with talent. Many swimmers stepped up for BR and had great races. Personal best times were achieved by Danielle Laliberte and Devon Caine in the 200 free, Kim Wolohojian (200 IM), Lynn Chuong (50 free), Cori Spagna (100 free), Ally Wilder (500 free), and Hope Keady in the 100 breast stroke. The girls next swim against Norton on Monday January 9th.

Boys vs Randolph:
won 82-52, Ian Bell, Anthony Chaves, Kevin Hexamer, and Kevin Curley led the way by winning both the 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay and each winning an individual event. Tyler Fisher and Jimmy Smith swam well achieving personal best times in all of their events.
Girls vs Randolph:
The girls won 85-56 with help from senior captains Chelsey Tate, Caissie Niles, Katelyn Travers, Cori Spagna and Kelsie Clark. The girls medley relay of Niles, Tate, Kim Wolohojian, and Danielle Laliberte took first. Many newer swimmers had personal best times this meet including, Sam Wilder, Katerina Sherrick, Megan Tate, Ally Wilder, and Laura Wood. The girls swim next against an undefeated conference opponent Nauset on Wednesday January 4th.
12/27 Middleboro Invitational:
Ian Lewis, a freshman swimmer, achieved a personal best during the 100-yard backstroke.

Boys vs Coyle Cassidy:
The B-R boys swimming had a great meet against Coyle. Both boys and girls won. This was the first win against Coyle for the B-R boys. Boys won 87-72. First places were achieved by Anthony Chaves, Kevin Curley, Ian Bell, and Kevin Hexamer. Many boys stepped up and had great races. Joey Mele had a personal best in the 100 breast stroke. Freshmen Jay McGillis and Chris St Louis had strong swims in their individual events and contributed to the team win.
Girls vs Coyle Cassidy:
The girls won 95-64. Cassie Niles, Kim Wolohojian, Kelsie Clark, and Cori Spagna won the 200 Medley relay and qualified for South Sectionals. First places were achieved by Rebecca Golden, Kelsie Clark, Chelsey Tate, Caissie Niles, and Kim Wolohojian. Personal best times were achieved by Ally Wilder, Haley Wayne, Danielle Laliberte, Caroline Hill, Kristine Dunham, Caissie Niles, Hope Keady, Sam McGrath, Sam Wilder, and Courtney Sheehan.

Boys vs Sacred Heart:
The boys won their first meet of the season vs Sacred Heart 73-56. They were lead by senior captain Ian Bell with two first place finishers in the 200 and 500 freestyle. Freshman Anthony Chaves won both his events, 200 IM and 100 breast stroke.
Girls vs Sacred Heart: The girls won their meet 83-64. The Trojans were lead by senior captains Kelsie Clark and Cori Spagna. Both girls won both their events. Clark in the 200 IM and the 100 breast stroke and Spagna in the 50 free and 100 free. Rebecca Golden also had a very impressive day winning the 200 and 500 freestyle. From the Coach, “We have a strong senior class and an abundance of new swimmers this season. I look forward to seeing this team continue to work hard and improve over the new few months.”
