Game Notes 2011 Season:
5/25 Varsity vs Taunton: The Lady Trojans lost to Taunton today with a sore of 3-2. The winning teams for BR were first doubles, Randi Hatch and Sarah Almeida 7-5, 7-5 and second doubles Annie Balaschi and Claudia Gonzalez, 7-5, 6-7, 11-9.
5/23 Varsity vs Pembroke: The Lady Trojans defeated Pembroke 3-2 winning all of its singles matches. Liz Baird won 6-1, 6-3, Nida Rit won 6-1, 6-3 and Emily Thomas won 6-3, 6-3.
5/12 Varsity vs King Phillip: The Lady Trojans lost 5-0. Annie Balaschi and Claudia Gonzalez played well at second doubles.
5/11 Varsity vs Dartmouth: In an away match against Dartmouth, the Lady Trojans lost 4-1. Liz Baird won at first singles, 6-1, 6-1.
5/9 Varsity vs Brockton: In a home match against Brockton, the Lady Trojans lost 3-2. Emily Thomas and Sarah Almeida won at first doubles, 6-2, 6-1. Annie Balaschi and Bridget Weygand won at second doubles 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
5/5 vs West Bridgewater: B-R won match against West Bridgewater 4-1. Liz Baird won at first singles 6-0, 6-4. Nida Rit won at second singles 6-0, 6-2. First Doubles Randi Hatch and Catsy Corsini won 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. Second Doubles Brigitte Weygand and Claudia Gonzalez won 6-2, 6-3
5/4 vs Taunton: match with Taunton partially completed and postponed until May 17
5/2 vs Durfee: Liz Baird, at first singles, 6-0, 7-5. Emily Thomas, at 3rd singles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Catsy Corsini and Sarah Almeida, at first doubles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0.
4/30 vs Dartmouth: The Girls tennis Team lost to Dartmouth 4-1 in the postponed math held on Saturday. Liz Baird was the sole winner at first singles as she continues (6-3, 6-2) her outstanding play for the team.
4/29 vs King Phillip Regional: The King Philip girls varsity visited B-R on Friday. Winners of 44 straight in the Hockomock League and featuring last years finalists in the Massachusetts State Doubles Tournament the Warriors defeated the Lady Trojans 5-0. The second doubles team of Annie Balarchi and Claudia Gonzalez lost (4-6, 4-7) and Liz Baird played well in defeat.
4/27 vs Barnstable: Barnstable proved themselves again a favorite in the Old colony League with a 5-0 sweep of the B-R Girls. Senor Liz Baird and Sophomore Nida Rit played well for the lady Trojans.
4/25 vs Durfee: The Girls Tennis Team won their second match of the year at Durfee High School on Monday. The Trojans swept the Hilltoppers by a score of 5-0. Captain Liz Bard (6-2, 6-2), sophomore Nida Rit ( 7-5, 4-6, 10-6) and junior Emily Thomas (7-5, 6-3) won at singles matches. Juniors Randi Hatch and Sarah Almeida(6-3, 6-3) won at first doubles while sophomore Bridget Wegand paired with Annie Balarchi for their win at second doubles.
4/11 vs Brockton: The Lady Trojans scored their first victory, 3-2, today in a match against Brockton. Nida Rit won her match at 3rd singles, 6-3 and 6-2. Juniors Emily Thomas and Sara Almeida won at first doubles, 6-4, 6-1. At second doubles a tie match was won by Brigitte Weygand and Annie Balaschi 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. The record is now 1-1. The next match is Wednesday at home against Dartmouth.
4/6 vs Pembroke: The first match of the season was against Pembroke High School on Wednesday, April 6. The girls tennis team lost by a score of 4- 1. Sophomore Nida Rit, who won her first varsity match at second singles by a score of 6-1, 6-2, was the lone bright spot for the Lady Trojans. The next match is at Brockton on Monday April 11 at Brockton High School.
