Match Notes 2012 Season
10/8 Varsity vs Plymouth North: The varsity girls played a great game, although came up short in the end losing to plymouth north in 3 sets. They put forth a great effort. The has several good plays from Barron, Walsh, and Pace. Nice try ladies! JV: The Jv girls beat Plymouth North in 3 sets. Scores being 25-22 PN, 25-19 BR, and 25-17 BR. All around the playing was good. Outstanding serves were given by Shawnessy and Thomas. Great plays were given by Sorrenti, Overstreet, and Colby! Keep up the good works ladies! Freshmen: The freshman put up a good fight against plymouth north! Although losing in 3 sets. Scores being 25-19 BR, 25-17 PN, and 36-34BR. All of the girls played very well! Nice try girls!
10/3 Varsity vs Dartmouth: The varisty put up a fight to Dartmouth playing in 3 sets. The girls played outstanding throughout and made a great effort! Walsh and Barron put up great sets for hits by Boyle and Hoyle. Great plays were made by Burgess and Pace! Great job ladies! JV: The Jv girls played a great game and had a wonderful effort throughout The beat Dartmouth in two sets scores being 25-9 and 25-14! Beninatti, Overstreet, Brow, and Sorrenti all made outstanding plays. While McGrath, Greet and Thomas contributed with serves. Great job girls! Freshmen: The freshman girls beat Dartmouth in 3 sets. It was a close game and the girls played really well! All around the playing was good and everyone contriubuted to the win! Tirelli, Morelli, Ivaldi and Polk all made great plays! Kepp up the good work ladies!
10/1 Varsity vs Plymouth South: The varsity girls gave plymouth south a good game, losing in 5 sets. The play was all around good. Strong serving was done by Barron and McCarthy. Great plays were given by Hoyle, Boyle, and Burgess! Nice try girls! JV: The Jv girls beat Plymouth South in 2 matches. Scores being 25-14 and 25-17. All around the play was a great effort and a well deserved win. Serves were given by Shawnessy, Greet and THomas. Setting was done by Sorrenti and Brow. McGrath, Gordee, and Perez all contributed as well to the win. Keep it up girls! Freshmen: The freshman girls beat plymouth south in 2 matches. Scores being 25-19 and 25-17. The girls all around put in a great effort. Great plays were made by Gaffney, Morelli, and Ivaldi. Strong serves were given by Polk and Prisco! Great jobs ladies!
9/26 Varsity vs Silver Lake: The varsity Trojans played a strong game, unfortunaly losing to silver lake in 4 sets. Scores being 25-10, 25-17, and 25-21, and 25-23. Strong serves were given by Shaw and Pace, while remarkable sets were given by Walsh and Barron. Hits were delievered by Hoyle, Kennelly, and Pereira! Good effort ladies! JV: The JV Trojans won their game against Silver Lake in two sets! Scores being 25-16 and 25-23. All girls contributed to the win and put forth great effort. On the court there was great sets by Brow, Colby, and Overstreet. Strong serving was given by Beninati, Perez, and McGrath. Unstoppable hits came from Shawnessey, Reagan, and Thomas! Wonderful job girls! Freshmen: The freshman Trojans beat Silver Lake in two sets. Scores being 28-16 and 25-9. All around the play was great with everyone's contributions! There was outstanding serves by Polk and all around playing by Gaffney, Sweeny, and Cavallaro! Another win for freshman, great job ladies!
9/24 Varsity vs Falmouth: Trojans lose in three after a hard-fought battle against Falmouth. Hits by Val Hoyle, Lawryne Boyle, Emily Keanely, and Kaitlyn Burchill. Sets given by Madi Barron, Kayleen Walsh, and Rachel Fernandez. Serves given by Michaela McCarthy, Brandi Pace, Hannah Perreria, Lauren Burgess, and Madi Shaw. Jadea and Zoe Thomas made great digs as well as the whole team. Even though the girls lost, they gave it their all and fought right to the end. Final Scores: (16-25) (22-25) (17-25). JV: BR beats Falmouth in two sets. With amazing hits by Zoe Thomas, Megan Shaughnessy, Carly Colby, and Sam Brow. Serves the racked up the score by Sam McGrath, Taylor Reagan, Briana Benninati, and Holly Greet. Digs by Sophie Perez, Erika Overstreet, Kerri-Anne Gordon, Natalie, and Jenna Barbati. The team worked great together and it showed. Final scores: (25-18) and (25-20) Freshmen: Trojans take on Falmouth and win in two sets. The volleyball team for freshmen played a great offensive and defensive game. Having multple spikes and sets that racked up the points for the girls. The serves were on and hellped a great deal in the victories against Falmouth. Final scores of sets: (25-16) (25-19)
9/21 Varsity vs Plymouth South: In four sets, varsity put up a fight to Plymouth south, coming out without a victory. The girls put forth a good effort. Shaw, Barron, and Pereira served nicely. While Hoyle, Kennelly, and Rodriquez had great hits. Pace, Boyle, and McCarthy contributed to the game with strong plays. Youll get them next time girls! JV: The JV team beat Plymouth South in 3 sets. The girls played a great game and kept up the energy througout. McGrath, Thomas, and Greet served strong sets. Brow, Colby, and Gordan set up hits with great sets! Shawnessy, Reagan, and Sorrenti contributed to the win with their amazing plays! Amazing performance girls!Freshmen: The freshman ladies beat Plymouth South in 3 sets. The girls played a great and intesive game. Gaffney and Prisco served strong serves. Cavallaro, Polk, and Ivaldi had great plays that helped the team in the victory! Wonderful job girls!
9/19 Varsity vs Barnstable: The Br Trojans varsity volleyball team gave it their all against Barnstable on September 19th. They showed strong defensive skills especially from Madison Shaw, Michaela McCarthy and Lauren Burgess. The team also had some great offensive skills; with great sets by Madison Barron and hits from Kaitlyn Burchill, Emily Kennealy and Hannah Pereira. They were defeated by Barnstable, but showed awesome enthusiasm and determination! Keep it up ladies!JV: The Jv Trojans volleyball team put up a great fight against Barnstable on 9/19. Great digs in backrow from Sam McGrath, Kerri-Ann Gordan and Erica Overstreet. Amazing sets from Holly Greet setting up hitters Carly Colby, Zoe Thomas and Taylor Raegan. Serving from Megan Shaughnessy and Sam Brow kept the girls in the game. The girls came close to beating Barnstable in the first set and showed determination in the second. The JV team lost in two sets and hope to beat them in their home game against them! Freshmen: The Freshman Volleyball team put 100% effort into their game against barnstable. Their skills and enthusiasm in the game made it a tough loss. They had great digs and hits and every girl contributed to their determination. It was an overall great game and they tried their hardest. Good job girls!
9/17 Varsity vs Plymouth North: In an intense 5 match game, the Varsity girls beat Plymouth North. The intensity was shown throughout the whole game. Hoyle, Shaw, and Pereira had great plays. Walsh and Fernandes gave great sets. While spikes were given by Burchill and Kennelly. Amazing job girls! JV: beat Plymouth North in two sets. The girls played overall a great game with scores of 25-9 and 25-15. Serving was contributed by McGrath, Shawnnessy, and Benitati. Great sets were given by Greet, Overstreet, and Brow. Gordan, Perez and Sorrenti played a great game. Great Job Ladies! Freshmen: The freshman girls team won against Plymouth North in 2 sets. With scores of 25-17 and 25-21. With another game of great play all around. Tirrelli helped the team out with great sets. While, Poke and Gaffney lead the team to victory in serves. Hilliard, Cavallaro, and Morrill contributed to the teams win with great plays. Keep it up girls!
9/12 Varsity vs Durfee: Varsity Trojans just fall short of a victory in four sets. Even with hard hits by Val Hoyle, Lawryne Boyle, and Kayla Cohen, Trojans just couldn't come out on top loosing first set (18-25). Serves by Hannah Perreria, Madi Shaw, and Kaitlyn Burchill help win the second set (25-20). Kayleen Walsh and Rachel Fernandez co-set the five games helping score points. The last two sets Brandi Pace, Jadea, Emily Kenealey, Michaela McCarthy, and Lauren Burgess make amazing defensive and offensive plays, but they are not eough to win the game. Final scores of last two sets being (19-25) and (21-25). JV: Trojans sweep the floor in two sets against Durfee. Hits by Megan Shaughnessy, Sophie Perez, Carly Colby, and Taylor Reagan with sets from Erika Overstreet and Holly Greet helped rack in the points. Serves from Brianna Benninati, Sam Brow and Zoe Thomas was fanominal! Kerri-Ann Gordan along with Sam McGrath saved balls left and right with digs. The final scores (25-16) and (25-13).
9/7 Varsity vs Falmouth: The varsity Trojans had an outstanding win against Falmout Friday. They went to the fifth set, scores being 25-15 BR, 25-19 Falmouth, 25-19 Falmouth, 25-11 Br and 16-14 BR. The play was amazing especially the strong serving from Shaw and McCarthy. Great sets were given by Barron and unstoppable hits from Hoyle and Kennelly. Boyle, Burgess, and Perriera also had strong plays that contributed. Good Game Girls! JV: The Junior Varsity Trojans came out of Fridays game against Falmouth with a win. The girls won in two set, scores being 25-15 and 25-10. The team benefited from the strong serving of Thomas, McGrath, and Colby. Great sets from Greet and Over-street, and Plays from Shawnessy and Brow. The whole team contributed to the win. Great Game Girls! Freshmen: The freshman Trojans won 2 straight games against Falmouth on September 7th. In the first match winning 25-16, and the second 25-17. The girls played well all around with great sets from Tirrell, serves from Korotsky, and plays by Sorrenti. The Trojans played hard and deserved their win. Great Job Ladies!
9/5 Varsity vs Brockton: Match scores:10-25, 13-25, 13-25 great setting by Madison Barron, Rachel fernandez & Kathleen Walsh. Great defense and and excellent hitting.
