Meet Notes 2009 - 2010 Season - Old Colony League Champions 2010
3/5 New England Meet: Tom Mullen capped off a short but sweet winter track career by finishing 4th at New Englands in the 600m with a School Record time of 1:22.20. Tom's time was the 3rd fastest in Massachusetts this year and 25th fastest in the country this year. Also, competing at New Englands was the boys 4x400, Kyle Reid (who placed 8th in the 55m dash at D1 states this year, and went to all-states last year in the Long Jump) ran a great lead off leg 52.08, Mike Norgaard ran a 51.9, Cam Macdonald ran a 53.8 and Mullen finished with a 51.6. The 4x400 ended up 9th at New Englands and ran their best time of the season 3:30.78. Tom Mullen, Kyle Reid, Tom Palimeri and Mike Norgaard will be competing in the SMR at the Nike Nationals next week at the Reggie Lewis Center. Long but Awesome Season
2/7 Bob MacIntyre Relays:
The boys track team competed in the Bob MacIntyre Relays on Feb 7 at the Reggie Lewis Center. The SMR lost by less then a second to Seekonk High School. The team of Tom Mullen, Tom Palimieri, Kyle Reid and Mike Norgaard ran the 8th fastest time in the country and broking a school record. The boys shot put, all juniors, placed 8th overall. The Trojans will be preparing for D1 states, which will take place on Feb 20 at 9:30 at the Reggie. The Trojans will take 9 athletes and 2 relays to D1 states, the most in over 6 years.
2/1 Old Colony League Championship Meet:
The Bridgewater-Raynham boys track team capped off a great season by adding the OCL conference meet title to their resume. The team scores were BR 142 Dartmouth 85 Attleboro 83 Taunton 63 and Barnstable 23. Leading the way for the Trojans were Tommy Mullen, Kyle Reid, and Neil Harrington. Tommy Mullen won the 1000m with a time of 2:34.82, breaking the school record by 2 seconds, Tom also holds the 600m record. Kyle Reid won the Long Jump and 55m Dash and Neil Harrington won the High Jump. Sophomore Nick Schlatz won the 55m hurdles, and Ryan Hebard (Shot Put) throw a personal best 45-9.50, placing second overall. 4x200 team (Palimieri, Harrington, Schlatz, and Morin) ran their best time of the season 135.92 and placed first overall. The 4x400 (Reid, Harrington, Norgaard, Mullen) placed first. Other Trojans scoring key points were Tom Palimieri (55m dash), Mike Norgaard (300), Mike Warish (1000m), Nick Marini (Mile), Rob Nee (2 mile), Brett Stewart (55m Hurdles), Marquis Marshall (Long Jump), Zac Poh (Shot Put),and Matt Wapenyi (Shot Put). Sophomores Sam Brennen (55m dash) and Eric Demoura (55m hurdles) ran personal best. Freshmen Ed Hall, Matt Wyman, and Anthony Gallo all had great times in their first OCL meet. The Trojans totally dominated the winter by winning both the OCL dual meet championship and the conference meet championship. Good Jobs everyone.
1/24 MSTCA state relay:
The B-R boys track team recently competed in the MSTCA state relay track meet held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Ma. The boys finished 4th overall, scoring 20 points. The boys place 4th in long jump (Reid, Marshall, Harrington), 5th in Shot Put (Hebard, Carvallo, Poh), 3rd in 4x400 (Mullen, Reid, Norgaard, Macdonald). The most exciting race of the day was the Sprint Medley (Mullen, Harrington, Reid, Norgaard) BR got edged at the line, losing by .04 to Andover High School. The B-R boys sprint medley is ranked 9th in the country.

1/21 vs Taunton:
The B-R boys track team defeated the Taunton Tigers by the score of 78-21. The win gave the Trojans their first OCL Championship since 2004. The Trojans finished the year 5-1 and 4-0 in OCL. The boys really brought their "A" game as 15 kids had personal best, 13 of them scored points for the team. Finishing in first place were: Brett Stewart (Hurdles), Kyle Reid (Long Jump and 55m Dash), Tom Mullen (1000), Cam MacDonald (600m), Neil Harrington ( High Jump and 300), Ryan Hebard (Shot Put), the 4x200 (Morin, Palimeri, Gallo, Harrington) and the 4x400 (Reid, Mullen, MacDonald, Norgaard). Getting key second place points were Nick Schlatz (55mH and High Jump), Nick Goodhue(600), Nick Marini (Mile), Rob Nee (2 mile), Marquis Marshall (Long Jump). Getting one point for the Trojans, having personal best and coming in 3rd place were: Matt Wyman (600), Eric Demoura (55m hurdles), Luke Amirault (mile), James McCarthy, and Zac Poh (shot put), Finally, Martin Murray placed 3rd in the long jump,and Brendan Carvalho (shot put) and Mike Warish (1000m) came in fourth place but had personal best. Great Job Boys - you worked hard for this title.
1/15 vs Barnstable:
The B-R boys track team defeated Barnstable by the score of 66-33. Double winners for the Trojans were Nick Schlatz (high jump and 55m hurdles) and Kyle Reid (300 and long jump). Tom Mullen qualified for D1 states in mile with a time of 4:42. Cam Macdonald won the 1000m race and Ryan Hebard won the shot put. The 4x200 team of Mullen, Macdonald, Norgaard and Reid ran a 1:36.00 and came in first place. With the win the Trojans improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the OCL. The Trojans will face the Taunton Tigers at Wheaton College on Thursday Jan. 21, 2010.
1/11 vs Durfee:
The B-R (3-1 2-0) boys track team defeated the Durfee Hilltoppers by the score of 61-39 at Wheaton College. Leading the way for Trojans was Neil Harrington who won the high jump and qualified for D1 states in the 300. Tom Mullen bumped up an won the mile with a time of 4:44.5. Cam Macdonald won the 600 and qualified for D1 states. Kyle Reid jumped over 20 feet and won the long jump. Rob Nee got his first varsity win in the 2 mile and Nick Schlatz won the 55m hurdles. Ryan Hebard, Zac Poh, and Matt Wapenyi all had personal best in the shot put. Ryan Hebard qualified for D1 states and Tom Palimieri qualified for D1 states in the 55m dash. Finally, the 4x400 team (Mullen, Reid, Norgaard, and Macdonald) won with a time of 3:33.80. BR will take on the Barnstable Red Raiders at the Reggie on Friday.
1/9 Winter Festival at Reggie Lewis Center: The boys track team participated in the Winter Festival meet held at the Reggie Lewis Center. Tom Mullen broke a 6 year old school record in the 600m with a time of 1:23.87. Tom was also part of the 4x400 team (Kyle Reid, Mike Norgaard, Cam McDonald) that placed first overall with a time of 3:31.92. Neil Harrington qualified for D1 states in the long jump. This meet was huge for the B-R track program, in terms of personal record, 15 out of the 18 athletes who went for B-R had a PR on this day and everyone else were right around their times or distance. Good Job Boys
1/5 vs Attleboro:
The boys track team defeated Attleboro by the score of 55-45. The meet was tied at 45-45 going into the relays and BR won both relays to make the final score 55-45. Leading the way for the mighty Trojans were Neil Harrington, Kyle Reid, and Tom Mullen. Neil Harrington won the high jump and the 300m, Kyle Reid won the 55m dash and the long jump, and Tom Mullen won the 1000m and ran the final leg of the 4x400. Sophomore Nick Schlatz won the hurdles and placed 3rd in the high jump. Nick Marini and Zac Poh both placed second in their events. Getting key third place points for our team were Rob Nee ( 2mile), Cam Macdonald ( 600), Mike Warish (1000), Ryan Hebard (shot punt), Marquis Marshall (long jump), Tom Palimieri (55m dash) and Brett Stewart (55m Hurdles). Finally, the 4x200 of Tom Palimieri, Nick Schlatz, Anthony Gallo and Neil Harrington came in first place and the 4x400 team of Kyle Reid, Cam Macdonald, Brendan Morin and Tom Mullen cross the line ahead of Attleboro to win the meet.
1/2 Red Auerbach Freshman/Sophomre Meet:
The B-R boys track team competed in the Red Auerbach freshman-sophomore meet. Nick Goodhue received a medal has he took home 6th place in the 600m dash. Sophomore Nick Schlatz just missed the finals in the 55m hurdles, as he placed 9th out of 65 hurdlers. The 4x400 team (Morin, Schlatz, Livingston,Goodhue) ran a good time and placed 10th overall. Freshman Eddie Hall(1000m 3:02), Freshman Kevin Johnston toss the shot 32' 4" and Sophomore James MacArthur (2 mile 11:39) all had personal best in their events. The Red Auerbach meet hosted close to 40 schools from Div. 1 and Div. 2 and over 1000 athletes. The Trojans next meet will be against OCL foe Attleboro High School at Wheaton College on Jan 5 at 3:30.
12/18 vs Dartmouth:
The B-R boys track team defeated the Dartmouth Indians by the score of 69-31 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Leading the way for the Mighty Trojans was Tom Mullen, who won the 1000. Also taking 1st for BR were Kyle Reid (55m dash), Neil Harrington (High Jump), Marquis Marshall (Long Jump), Ryan Hebard (Shot Put), Mike Norgaard (300m). Finally, Cam MacDonald (600m), Rob Nee (2 Mile), Nick Marini (1 Mile) all had impressive runs and came in seccond place for the Trojans.
12/15 vs New Bedford:
The boys track team had an impressive showing despite a 57-43 loss to New Bedford High School on Tuesday Dec 15. Winners for the Trojans were Mike Norgaard (300), Cam MacDonald (600), Tom Mullen (1000), 4x200 (Palmieri, Delsignor, Harrington, Morin), 4x400 (Reid, Mullen, MacDonald, Norgaard). Senior captain Kyle Reid went against New Bedfords best and finished second in the Long Jump (lost by an inch) and Second in the 55m dash (lost by .01). Neil Harrington (600) and Rob Nee (2 mile) placed second in their events. Tom Mullen (1000), Kyle Reid (Long Jump and 55m Dash) and the 4x400 qualified for D1 states. The next meet for the Trojans will be at the Reggie on Friday vs Dartmouth in a big OCL showdown.
