Meet Notes 2011 - 2012 Season
1/30 Old Colony League Championship Meet: The boys track team competed in the OCL championship meet on Monday Jan 30. Doing well for the Trojans were: Brendan Sullivan (High Jump, 1st place), Ed Hall (1000, 2nd place), The General James MacAuthur (600, 2nd place), Mike Vasquez (Shot Put, 2nd place) Jordan Cohen ( Long Jump, 3rd place), Kevin Wadsworth ( Hurdles and High Jump, 4th places), Rob Nee ( 2 mile, 4th place), Tyler Carey ( 55m Dash, 5th place), Ryan Putt (2 mile, 5th place), Mitchell Brady (1 mile, 6th place), Matt Pretty (300, 6th place), Justin Skov (600, 6th place), Zach Dwinell (600, 7th place ), Justin Sullivan (300, 7th place), Dan Russell (1000, 7th place) Scott Ledoux (300, 8th place). 10 underclassmen came in the top 8 in the league, which is awesome for the future in winter track next year.
1/13 vs Dartmouth: The Boys track team lost the OCL Dual Meet Championship to Dartmouth High School by a score 65-35. The General, James MacArthur continues to have a great Sr. season as he won the 600. Rob Nee won the 2 mile with his best time of the season. Brendan Sullivan won the High Jump with a jump of 5'7. The young Trojans fought like champions but came up short. 6 kids had PB during this meet, Dartmouth just had too much fire power. The Trojans will now practice for the next two weeks and prepare for the OCL Conference Meet Championships, which will be held on Jan 30 at the Reggie Lewis Center.
1/9 vs Taunton: The Trojans had one of there toughest but exciting meets of the year. Thanks to the Fab 4 (Tyler Carey, Ben Ivaldi, Scott Ledoux, and Justin Sullivan) all sophmores defeated Taunton in the 4x200 and ensured atleast a tie in the meet and keeping the Trojans hopes alive for the OCL title. The underdog Trojans tied Taunton 50-50. Finishing first for the Trojans were: James MacAurthur, Ed Hall, Kevin Wadsworth, Brendan Sullivan, and Mike Vasquez. Also, Sr Capt. Zach Dwinell had a huge second place finish in the 600m run. The Trojans will take on the Dartmouth Indians at the Reg. on Friday for the OCL Championship.
1/6 vs Durfee: The Trojans had the meet wrapped up but were DQed on the last lap of the last race during the 4x400. Matt Petty tried to squeeze by the running from Durfee but accidentally hit the boy, BR won the race and the meet but call by the officials turned the score from 52-47 for the Trojans to 52- 47 in favor of Durfee. Finishing in first for the Trojans were: James MacAurthur, Dan Russell, Ed Hall, Brendan Sullivan, and Jared Cohen.
12/16 vs New Bedford: The boys varsity track team lost a close meet to New Bedford by a score of 52-48. Coming first for the Trojans were Ed Hall, James McAurthur, and Rob Nee.
12/13 vs Barnstable: The Bridgewater-Raynham boys track team defeated the Barnstable Red Raiders by a score of 62 - 38 at Wheaton College on Tuesday. Leading the way for Trojans were Capt. Rob Nee and Ryan Putt in the 2 mile. Kevin Wadsworth in the 55m H. Mike Vasquez tossed the shot 41, Jordan Cohen jumped 18 in the long jump, Justin Skov (600) and Ed Hall (1000) all won their events. Coming in second with some good performances were James McAurthur (Mile), Shaqullie Wiggins (55m dash), Matt Petty (300).
