Meet Notes 2012 - 2013 Season
12/14 vs Waltham: In their second meet of the season, the Trojans faced the Lady Hawks of Waltham and won 82-18. Winners for the Lady Trojans included a sweep in the 300 meter race. Senior Katie Phieffer took first and freshmen Sarah Maloney and Taylor Poulin took second and third. The girls took all three places in the hurdles with Sarah Barnett (senior) in first, Jess Cavallaro (junior) in second, and Sam Sherrrick (Sophomore) in third. In the mile, sophomores Molly Desrochers and Emma Sullivan took first and third respectively. Junior Meaghan Kenney took first place in the 55 meter dash and Angela Ferrini (sophomore) in third. The Trojans swept all three places in the 600 meter race. Freshman Nicole Geraghty took first, Rosie Bunszell (junior) took second, and Andrea Rota (sophomore) took third. In the 1000 meter race, senior Carly Rettig took first and Meghan Garrity (freshman) took third. The Lady Trojans took all three places in the 2 mile race: Alicia Porter (sophomore) took first, Emily Bumpus (sophomore) took second, and Kayla Porter (sophomore) took third. The girls dominated the high jump with Sarah Dawson (sophomore) in first, Mikayla Ferrini (freshman) in second, and Taylor Lloyd (sophomore) in third. Sarah Barnett (senior) came in first in the long jump, and Jess Cavallaro (junior) took third. Michaela Wellman (senior) came in second for the girls shot-put. The B-R girls took first place in both relays. The winning 4 x 200 team consisted of Sarah Maloney (freshman), Meaghan Kenney (junior), Shae Breslin (sophomore), and Taylor Poulin (freshman). Rosie Bunszell (junior), Sarah Barnett (senior), Molly Desrochers (sophomore), and Katie Phieffer (senior) made up the winning 4x400 team. The girls again proved victorious against the Hawks of Waltham. Their next meet is Tuesday, December 18 at Wheaton.
12/11 vs New Bedford:The Lady Trojans Track team faced the Lady Whalers of New Bedford yesterday and defeated them 72-28. Winners for B-R include Katie Phieffer (senior) who took first place in the 300 meter dash, followed by Sarah Maloney (Freshman) who placed second. The Lady Trojans swept the one mile with Molly Derochers (sophomore) taking first, Emma Sullivan (sophomore) in second, and Andrea Rota (sophomore) in third. Sarah Barnett (senior) took second in hurdles. In the 55 meter dash, Meghan Kenney (junior) came in first and Taylor Poulin (freshman) came in third. Rosie Bunszell (junior) took second in the long jump while Sarah Dawson(sophomore) and Mikayla Ferrini (freshman) took first and third in high jump respectively. Rosie Bunszell (junior) and Meghan Garrity (freshman) took first and third in the 600 meter race. The Trojans swept the thousand meter race with Carly Rettig (senior) in first, Renee Beneski (senior) in second, and Devon Fitzgerald (freshman) in third. Also sweeping the two mile, Emily Bumpus (sophomore) in first, and Alicia and Kayla Porter (sophomores) in second and third. The lady Trojans took first in the 4x400 relay with Sarah Barnett (senior), Molly Derochers (sophomore), Carly Rettig (senior), and Rosie Bunszell (junior). The Trojans took first and second in the girls shot put, with Sarah Barnett and Michaela Wellman respectively. Great display by the Lady Trojans for their first meet of the season. We have high hopes for the girls this season. The girls will face Waltham on Friday December 14, at the Reggie Louis Center.
